1970 Porsche 914 914-6 Additional Info:

Available for sale is this beautiful numbers-matching 1970 factory Porsche 914-6, IN 9140430501, inished in the original tangerine over black. When I purchased this car several years ago, t had been off the road since at least 1988, itting in the second owner's warehouse in an inland suburb of Los Angeles. Beginning in 2012, he car was treated to a complete nut and bolt restoration, hich was completed in 2014. The car participated in a local PCA concours immediately following completion, here it won first in class in the full concours division, nd was a judged participant in the 2014 Werks Reunion in Monterey, alifornia. Since restoration, he car has been driven less than 350 miles. I restored this car expecting to keep it in my collection forever. Since completion, he car has seen very little use and my personal situation has changed, o I must begin to thin my collection. If you are looking for a restored numbers-matching original 914-6, ou would be hard pressed to find a nicer example anywhere at any price.

I found this car advertised locally in Los Angeles by the second owner, ho owned the car since the early 1970's. He drove the car regularly until the 1980's, nd after his wife's repeated complaints about his irresponsible driving with a growing young family, e parked the car in his warehouse in 1988, here I found it more than 20 years later. The car was a California and Arizona car from new, nd I have service records going back to the early 1970's until 1988, onfirming its origins. As a result, he car had the virtually no rust, xcept two small areas which were expertly repaired using small sections from a donor car, nd these repairs are imperceptible. All other sheet metal is original to the car. COA confirms engine is original and matching (transmission data is not recorded, ut it is a date correct tail shift and presumably original). The personalized blue plates (UNVMY6) are original to the car from the mid-1970's and have been reassigned to the car and will be included for buyers in California.

The car was treated to a 1500+ hour nut and bolt restoration. Upon reassembly, o component was left untouched, ith new or refinished hardware used throughout. All suspension components were stripped and powder-coated before reassembly with new shocks, truts, ushings, earings and seals. All new weather-stripping and soft parts were used throughout the car. The brake calipers were refinished and rebuilt, he inner dash structure was removed and freshly powder-coated, ll gauges were redone by North Hollywood Speedometer, he interior was completely redone with new German vinyl with houndstooth seat inserts, ew correct carpet was installed, he targa top was refinished, orrect bumpers were re-chromed and the original fog lights and factory leather steering wheel were restored and installed. The undercarriage was cleaned, tripped and given a light coat of Wurth SKS undercoating in the correct grey finish. The car includes a full set of five ultra-rare Mahle gas-burner wheels, n original tool kit, restored jack, he correct owner's manual and the original service booklet. Engine was treated to a top-end rebuild, ith heads refinished and rebuilt, ew rings and all new seals. Carburetors were cleaned and rebuilt. Original Bosch CDI rebuilt. New clutch, ressure plate and throw-out bearing installed. The original factory heat exchangers and muffler were ceramic coated before installation. Engine is the stock 2.0 and runs very strong, ounds great, ulls well and doesn't blow any smoke We also replaced all of the fuel lines (new stainless steel fuel lines supplied by Tangerine Racing), estored the fuel and oil tanks, ent through the brake system, nstalled a new Bosch battery and performed other typical service items as part of the restoration. Four new Dunlop tires were installed as part of the restoration. The car spends most of the time on a battery tender and starts easily even after sitting for several weeks. She is fully sorted and a joy to drive. The car recently received an oil change using Brad Penn oil.
