1965 Porsche 912 Additional Info:

1965 Porsche 912 #350735 is a Euro Delivery car, optioned with a 5 speed transmission. The COA is present. The clock and thermometer were professionally installed at some point in the car's history but are not present on the COA. It's paint code is Polo Red 6602. The corduroyseats are original, and the headliner is in good condition. It's production date is 09/06/1965 and it is tiled in my name in the state of Maryland as a 1965. It is one of the earliest SWB's ever produced and it can be driven home from my house.
Mechanically the car is solid. The car has 84,661 miles, and I believe those to be the true mileage on the car based on the title information that I have. The motor runs strong, and the Solex carburetors have been rebuilt by Bieker Engineering-a very often overlooked or ignored maintenance item on a 50 year old car as it is a costly job (1200 bucks, the bodies are machined for new butterflies, shafts, and bushings), which the receipt will show. This early production 912 has the rarely seen Mann air filter set up on it, before the change over to Knecht. The fuel tank has been dipped and sealed as well. The numbers matching five speed works well and I drive the car running errands two to three times a week with pleasure. The brake calipers have been rebuilt, rotors are in excellent condition, and the car rides on Porsche OEM 14" Fuchs with brand new Michelin Harmony tires. There is a date matched 3/65 steel spare in the boot. I do not have the original steel wheels to the car, but the Fuchs are included in the sale.
Overall the body is in very good condition for a 50 year old car. The previous owner stated a repaint in the 90's of the original Polo Red, and it is driver quality work. There is no rust present anywhere on the car and the majority of the chassis and pans have been sealed with a POR system. The pans are original and there is very acceptable metal replacement under each rear wheelhouse bend, directly under the spring plates.
This is the first year Porsche produced the SWB body and this is the 735th 912 produced, and a European delivery, making it a very special car for the enthusiast, collector, or someone looking to enter into the world of investment grade European models. Available for scheduled test drives and PPI, I would ask that you email or call daytimes EST at 301.648.5510.
I reserve the right to end the listing at any time as the car is offered for sale locally.
