1965 Porsche 356 Additional Info:

EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE A TRULY LOW MILEAGE, CORRECT, HIGH PERFORMANCE VINTAGE PORSCHE COMES ON THE MARKET THE WAY IT ORIGINALLY LEFT THE FACTORY IN GERMANY. THIS 1965 PORSCHE CABRIOLET SC VIN 160345 IS ONE OF THOSE RARE PORSCHES.

THE CABRIOLET WAS BORN ON APRIL , 1964 IN THE ORIGINAL COLOR OF SLATE GREY WITH RED LEATHER INTERIOR. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED IN EARLY 1966 BY THE OWNER WHO CURRENTLY LIVES IN NAPLES, FLORIDA AND IS 88 YEARS OLD. HE HAS OWNED THE CAR FOR OVER 52 YEARS. THIS CARHAS BEEN LOVED, PAMPERED AND HIGHLY MAINTAINED ALL OF ITS LIFE. IT WAS HIS BABY!

THE 1965 YEAR WAS THE LAST YEAR OF THE PORSCHE 356 MODEL. THE CAR HAD THE LASTEST INNOVATIONS OF PORSCHE AND BELIEVED TO BE ONE OF THE BEST DRIVING OF ALL 356'S. THE CABRIOLET HAD ALL DISC BRAKES AND THE SC HAD THE MOST POWERFUL PUSHROD ENGINE EVER PROUCED (95 PLUS HP) OF PORSCHE AFTER THE CARRERA.

I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM A PORSCHE DEALER FRIEND OF THE OWNER IN THE SPRING 2018 IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA. HE PLANNED TO TAKE THIS ORIGINAL CAR ON THE

COLORADO GRAND THEN REALIZED THE CAR WAS NOT OLD ENOUGH. THAT IS WHEN I ENTERED THE PICTURE

THROUGH TOM SCOTT, A LEADING NATIONAL PORSCHE JUDGE WHO LIVES IN DENVER AND LOCATED THE CAR FOR ME. AFTER SEVERAL CONVERSATIONS WITH THE PORSCHE DEALER AND DETAILED EXAMINATION OF ALL THE ORIGINAL RECORDS TOGETHER WITH A THOROUGH INSPECTION, I PURCHASED THE CAR.

THIS IS A COMPLETE MATCHING NUMBERS CAR WITH ALL THE ORIGINAL SHEET METAL WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE BATTERY TRAY. THE CAR WAS PROFESSIONALLY PAINTED ONE TIME IN 1984 TO ITS CURRENT ORIGINAL COLOR . I RECENTLY HAD THE PAINT COLOR SANDED AND BUFFED OUT TO ITS ORIGINAL SHINY SURFACE. YES, THERE ARE SOME IMPERFECTIONS IN THE PAINT AFTER 35 YEARS BUT IT LOOKS OUTSTANDING FOR ITS AGE. FROM MY KNOWLEDGE, WITH THE CAR KEPT IN A WARM CLIMATE IT NEVER HAD ANY RUST EXCEPT FOR THE BATTERY BOX. DOOR AND HOOD GAPS ARE EXCELLENT. THE ORIGINAL RED LEATHER INTERIOR AND CARPETING IS IN VERY GOODCONDITION EVEN THOUGH IT IS TOTALLY ORIGINAL. ALL GUAGES ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION- EVEN THE RADIO WORKS.

AN INITIAL ENGINE REBUILD OCCURRED IN 1982 AT 38,817 MILES. DURING FEBRUARY 2019 AT AN ESTIMATED 76,500 MILESON THE ODOMETER WE AGAIN REMOVED THE ENGINE FROM THE CAR FOR A TOTALCOSMETIC RESTORATION BY TOM SCOTT AND TREVOR'S, A LEADING PORSHE ENGINE RESTORER IN ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO. A RECENT LEAK DOWN TEST AT THAT TIME OCCURRED AND ONE OF THE CYLYNDERS WAS WEAK. AS A RESULT WE COMPLETELY REBUILT THE ENGINE WITH THE HIGHEST QUALITY NEW PISTONS AND CYLINDERS. AS A RESUL, THE CARDRIVES EXCEPTIONALLY WELL WITH GREAT ORIGINAL POWER AND NO LEAKS.

A NEW TOP, REAR WINDOW AND HEADLINER WERE INSTALLED IN 1990. TIRES WERE RECENTLY REPLACED WITH ALL NEW VREESTEIN 165/15 TIRES. ALL ORIGINAL MANUALS, ORIGINAL COMPLETE TOOL KIT, JACK, ORIGINAL KARDEXAND A RECENTLY ACQUIRED CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY TOGETHER WITH ALL MAINTENANCE RECORDS SINCE THE 1966 INCEPTION GO WITH THE CAR.

I AM CURRENTLY A MEMBER OF THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN PORSCHE CLUB AND THE 356 REGISTRY, AND HAVE BEEN SO FOR MANY YEARS. I HAVE BEEN AN E-BAY MEMBER SINCE 2008 WITH A 100 % RATING. I WOULD RECOMMEND ANY POTENTIAL BIDDER TO VIEW AND DRIVE THE CAR PRIOR TO BIDDING. PLEASE CALL WITH ANY OTHER QUESTIONS AT 303 883 5972
