1987 Porsche 944 Additional Info:

1987 944 (base model) in Alpine White with Burgundy interior. 5 speed manual transmission.

I have owned the car since the spring of 2011, during which time significant time and effort has been spent to transform it into a vehicle that was able to be driven daily.

The odometer reads 125,707 miles. This number is not actual. The gears stripped last spring, and need to be repaired to restore proper functionality. Actual mileage is within 500-1000 miles.

The car received a NYS inspection mid-summer after being removed from winter storage, the oil was just changed, and its ready for a new owner.

The Options codes are as follows - C77, BZ1, 418 (Body Side Molding), 437 (Full Power Seat, Left), 533 (Alarm System), 650 (Electric Sunroof), and 946 (Partial Leather Seats, Front). It is unclear what C77 denotes. BZ1 is "Porsche/Dealer Package Group". I do not officially know what this contains, but assume it to cover things like cruise control, air conditioning, fog lights, power windows, and power mirrors that the car has but does not have an options code for.

The exterior is a solid 8

In 2012 I took it down to bare metal and repainted it. I have never driven it in the snow. Underside of the car is clean.

The interior is probably a 5-6

There is some water damage to the left rear seat. The rear sunshade for the trunk is dry rotted, and virtually nonexistent. The trim around the quarter glass on the driver’s side is pulling away slightly. The driver’s seat has the OE power seat switches replaced with toggles, but retains power functionality.Ink is worn or lightly faded on several of the switches. Some light bolster wear on the driver and passenger seats. Thepassengerseat has a two very, very small rip.The mid-2000's CD player installed in the dash does not work. It was never an issue for me, and I did not invest any time to further investigate it.

I’m really picky…But at the end of the day, it’s clean, tidy, and all the electrical works.

Mechanically it is probably a 6-7

I have completed the following work in an effort to make the car reliable and capable of daily commuting

A/C was completely rehabbed with 134A Freon and works. New motor mounts. New vacuum lines. Fuel injectors pulled, cleaned and flow tested. New rear brakes. Sealed beam headlights replaced with H4 bulbs. Transmission in the car was replaced with a lower mileage one after failure. Replaced the steering U-Joint. New power steering rack.

Probably more than that, but it’s all I can think of at the moment. I have a pile of parts/service records.

All mechanical work was preformed by a reputable independent shop specializing in European cars. They are enthusiasts and I have trusted them to work on all of my German cars for over 10 years.

Other known issues -

The temperature gauge does not always work correctly. I replaced it, and the sender at one point. I’m not entirely sure where the
