1985 Porsche 944 Additional Info:

Selling my 85.5 Porsche 944 with 95k miles. I am a Rennlist member. I have owned the car for 10 years and until recently was my daily driver.
I'll add a little history concerning how it got to the point of selling it for nearly nothing. I was basically restoring the car and had dumped thousands into it. I've posted a picture of my pile of receipts. It was caught in a freak hail storm in Chicago and the insurance company essentially totaled it. They rated it in the top 5% of 944s and gave me top dollar. My plans were to have it fixed but a 944 turbo came for sale and I bought it. I kept this one too as it was mechanically sorted, just had a ton of dime size dents.
In the last year the clutch failed, someone dented my front fender and left a fake insurance number so I decided to just part the car out. It ran like a new car prior as I had replaced just about everything in the motor with new parts.
I'm selling it now essentially for it's motor and wheels. I have removed the entire interior.
The engine has had the timing belt/rollers/water pump done in that last 20K. I have the shop receipts. It has also had the head gasket and oil cooler seals replaced. I had re-manufactured fuel injectors installed. It has new fuel lines and jumper line. I replaced the fuel pressure regulator (fpr) and the fuel damper also. It has very little oxidation on the head and intake manifold..it's led a charmed existence.
I would guess close to $3,000 invested if you include labor in the engine alone. It's a pull and drop motor.
The car has 16" early offset Phone dials wheels that were transferred from my 944 turbo. These go for around $600-700 on ebay for a set. They are in nice shape with newer rubber.
It has upgraded turbo sway bars and the struts/shocks were replaced in the past 20K.
It has a good starter, transmission and exhaust. I always used Swepco trans oil.
The radiator has been replaced since Ive owned it.
Had the windshield replaced at Safelight and the hatch glass is in good shape too.
Door handles and instrument cluster are NOT included.
This is a great deal for someone needing a strong engine. I would remove it myself if I had the means to do so.
Car will have to be towed, obviously. Buyer will have to arrange for transport or pick up.
I have the car listed locally so will end this listing if it sells.
Paypal only. US only.
I have the title in hand.
I'll have a lot of 944 items listed soon if someone needs quality used parts.
Thanks.
