1968 Pontiac GTO Convertible

Up for sale is a gorgeous 1968 Ponitac GTO convertible with a Pontiac 400 and TH400 automatic transmission with “his and hers” shifter. This is a true factory “242” GTO with PHS documentation and NO rust issues NO blisters and NO mechanical problems. In 1968 2,108 GTOs were ordered with option code 674 which was the Endura Bumper Delete. The gentleman before us liked the look of the chrome front bumper over the body painted endura and went this route during the restoration. The GTO has power disk brakes, power steering and a power convertible top with glass rear window. This is a metal car and NOT a bondo bucket. The GTO has been gone through front to back and is turn key ready to go. Paint is in beautiful condition with no blisters and no rust. Vibrant color and laser straight panels down the sides of the car. There is two very small paint cracks under the rear window and above the deck lid (see video) which is common and hard to see. There is absolutely NO rust or rot on this GTO. The underneath is very clean and nicely painted with no hack patch jobs, floors were done during restoration and you could eat off the bottom. The chrome and stainless is all in excellent shape and the front and rear bumpers are like new. The engine bay is very clean and tidy and presents itself well. The glass is all very nice, no scratches or hazing and the windows go up and down smoothly. The 400 engine gets this GTO up and going and is a fun beast to drive. Absolute blast to drop the top and rip around town as it goes down the road beautifully. When you fire it up and drive it down the road, it sounds MEAN! Tons or bark and a great lumpy note at idle. Truly runs like a sweetheart. The motor is super healthy and runs flawlessly. It fires right up, idles perfect, runs nice and cool with great oil pressure. No smoke and no weird noises. AGAIN, SOUNDS AMAZING! The transmission shifts nice and smooth and makes it a joy for beach cruises. This GTO is an absolute delight to drive and that is no exaggeration!. The power top is new within the year with no rips and it has a glass window in the rear, goes up and down as it should. The interior is in excellent shape with no issues, no rips, cracks and so on. Beautiful dash, upholstery and such. I would call the interior a 9.5 out of a 10. This GTO has been gone through from front to back and needs nothing, it is 100% ready to go to a new home and enjoyed. The horn is the only thing not currently working and the gas gauge is finicky, everything else works as it should. It runs and drives beautiful and again, its an absolute blast to drive. It floats down the road so nice, you really will be blown away how nice of a cruiser this GTO truly is. Everything is tight, goes straight down the road, no rattles or shimmy's and it will brake straight without pulling side to side. No vibrations just a beautiful and fun beach cruiser / cruise night muscle car. The wheels and tires are like new (tires have plenty of tread) You will not find a true factory GTO convertible in this price range let alone in this condition.
