1977 Pontiac Can Am Base Additional Info:

1977 Pontiac Can Am. This car is a pretty rare unit. Pontiac decided to make 5000 of these for 1977 but stopped half way through. Only 3177 are believed to be built and it is rumored only half of those have survived. This is a very original unmolested unit ready for a basic easy restore. Even if you want to make it a trailer queen it is a great candidate. This car is mostly rust free. The rust it does have is very minor surface rust. Please see pics to prove. This was a southern car so it has not been in the rust belt for very long. Believe the motor has been changed, however I believe it is a period correct Pontiac small block. Runs, drives, stops just like it should. Clear paint is peeling from being in dry summer heat in New Mexico possibly. Just resealed the intake pan gasket which did leak from the shaker hood.
