1958 Pontiac Star Chief Additional Info:

Selling my 1958 Pontiac Star Chief 4-Door Sedan with original matching numbers 370 cu. in. 4-bbl 285hp engine, 4 speed hydramatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and power antenna.

The mileage is 99,417 and the engine runs very strong with no smoking, noises, or issues. The automatic transmission also shifts smoothly with no issues. You could drive this car daily if you wished to do so.

The original interior is in great shape with no rip or tears. The headliner is very cool with the little star pattern in it.

All of the dash gauges, clock, lights, signals, heater, radio, and power antenna work.

Every piece of chrome, stainless, and trim is on this car and in good shape.

It’s very original as you can see with only one repaint many years ago in the original Redwood Copper and Patina Ivory.

I purchased the car from an elderly gentleman here in NC that had owned it for nine years.

The undercarriage is super solid with no holes in the floorboards, trunk, or frame. Just needs a good detailing.

I recently treated the trunk floor with some Eastwood products to keep it preserved. No holes, and still has the original trunk mat, and a spare tire and jack.

The body has no dents at all and is as solid as a tank. There are some small areas with paint bubbling, but nothing major. (See pictures)

Included with the car are: Service manual (original), owners manual (reprint), two new spray cans of correct color 1958 engine paint to detail the engine with, and an original magazine ad.

Previous owner had a complete new power brake system (master cylinder, wheel cylinders, shoes and lines), new front wheel bearings, coil springs, front shocks, and new whitewall tires done before I bought it. Also, a new heater control valve, blower motor and heater core.

-The horn does not work. Not sure why? Has a new horn relay.

-I would replace the valve cover and oil pan gaskets as they leak a bit and may be original?

-New rear shocks. It rides fine, but the rear shocks are old.

-Electric wipers need adjustment.

These 58 Star Chiefs are fairly rare cars with just over 10,000 produced.

When is the last time you have seen a 58 Pontiac Star Chief on the road or at a car show?

I can only find TWO others on the internet for sale, and both are 4-door sedans like mine. One is $31,000, and the other one is $45,000.

This car is priced at way less. It is a very affordable classic car investment that gets thumbs up everywhere you drive it. People flock to this car!

Enjoy it as is, as an original driver quality classic and restore it over time. This car has not been modified or hot rodded. All the original stuff is still there!

One thing is for sure, this 61 year old Pontiac Star Chief is still a head turner and will only go UP in value.

I am only selling it so I can buy a 67 Firebird like I used to own.
