1969 Pontiac GTO Additional Info:

up for auction is a very solid 1969 Pontiac GTO....non-numbers matching 1970's mild build on a 400 engine - sorry, I have NO info on the inside of this engine....runs strong with Pontiac edelbrock performerintake manifold, newhei/wires, new plugs/fluids, new double pumperholley 4bbl, m/t covers....trans is a Muncie 4 speed with hurst shifter - runs thru the gears well and does not pop out of gear...no grinding between gears or when putting into gear have no idea or what numbers are on it - was told it had recently been rebuilt by a trans shop in Endicott ny - clutch works great - pedal feels like it is inproper position in it's travel, and it grabs tightly too....rear end seems to function ok without any noises...brakes seems to work well - looks like the master cyl + was changed at one time - no noises from the brakes when applied either..body is very solid - no rot in the frame and little in the front floors of the interior or trunk area... doors shut tightly...all glass looks good..steering is tight and wheel is in nice shpe - looks like someone did some recent front end work as it has new shims installed...tires are new on original rally wheels...the ws wiper is all there, but did not seem to work....I did not check wiring or fuses so they may work..see the scans for the very small rust in the driver's side floor....front fenders, inners, floor, doors, top, hood/trunk and are all very solid - some small amt of mud on the trunk - taken off in one area- was dented as seen in the scans....4 tube headers into cherry bombs, dash has a sun tach stuffed into a hole in dash but I have the original plastic delete in the glove box, fuel gauge appears to work ok, aftermarket gauges in hump area work ok too....interior is complete, but needs some seams resewn in the front buckets - back seat is innice originalcondition, door panels are just ok but need some bottom rug attention as do the door arm rests...all seat belt restraints are there and in ok shape....trunk is very solid with no rot showing or patched...rear quarters are VERY solid except around the wheel well opening andhave been patched with some mud and could be repatched if desired, but the car does come with 2 new aftermkt quarter panels - really only needs wheel openings done tho...front fenders are very solid as well with 2 holes -one oneach side by the doglegs- easily patchable as the rest of the surrounding metal is not rotted....starts, runs, stops well, lights work, turn signals, gen light, fuel gauge, aftermarket oil press and temp work well...not sure if the original temp gauge works or if it was disabled....car does not heat up and runs like it has a mid cam in it...was told by the late owner's brother that it had been rebuilt at one time and it 'looks it' from what I can observe but again, buying in this as-is condition...it IS a real 242 GTO, not a clone..any questions, please ask..no trades - cash money as I am selling for a friend...car comes with a clear pennsylvania title and bill of sale....
