FOR SALE - A clear title available to a classic collector or road tourjunkiea California born and based muscle car - 1971 Pontiac Lemans Sport - looking for an appreciative PONTIAC owner!

This sporty looking car has a reputation being it has beena TV star known as "The Unit" for the Action Sports TV series "TheXcorps" based in San Diego.

For more on this vehicle in Action please Google “Xcorps TV Pontiac LeMans” - Sorry no video hot links allowed on EBAY or I would include them here.

This is a California made car which I purchased in 1984 in San Diego and have owned ever since! It is a very FUN FAST dependable ride that always gets many thumbs up and smiles everywhere it goes...Unlike most new cars! Owned by the producer of the Action Sports show Stu Edmondson. This is NOT a Trailer Queen but a ROAD TOURING vehicle with a lot of cool history! We have driven it on many road tours including the complete length of Coast Highway 101…What an adventure in a FUN ride!

Upgrades and changes from Original:

The engine was lifted and completely rebuilt to higher performance specs and since then the car was just driven locally in San Diego to car shows and around town with less than 5000 miles currently (2017) on the new engine and transmission built by Wilson Machine and Transmasters of Encinitas.

More details on the engine rebuild project below:

The block was magged and bored .40 over making it a 357. Edelbrock aluminum heads modeled after the Pontiac "Ram Air IV" design were bolted on. The stock crank was refurbished and an Schneider GTO Cam along with new cast pistons, bearings, chain and gears, oil and H2o pump and a set of Comp Cams Magnum Roller Rockers and push rods were added. This really added to the character thump of the Pontiac big block engine.

Likes premium gas but will burn regular no problem.

Top end included trading in the old Rochester Quadrajet carb - which could easily smoke the treads and IS a great carb - traded up to a new version of the classic Holley 650 mechanical "Double Pumper". A new Holley 110 gph 8psi mechanical fuel pump was added to keep up with the new fuel demands. Wilson's Machine then added an Edelbrock polished aluminum intake manifold. Up top a Tornado air vortex unit was added to a massive Edelbrock air cleaner. Polished chrome valve covers by the same great company.

The engine compartment was detailed black before the engine was dropped back in. The ignition system was upgraded with a MSD 6A box and 8.5 Superconductor plug wires all hooked up to a new MSD Pro Billet distributor. External oil cooler added for added engine protection. Synthetic oil always used.

For exhaust the only headers that would fit the Edelbrock Ram Air design heads were the Hooker Super Comps, which are nice but are so phat that the old starter had to be replaced by a Pro Torque that could pivot out of the way. The headers were followed by a crossover pipe and a pair of Flowmaster mufflers with chrome tips. Custom spoiler added to the tail end.

Suspension was beefed all around with new heavy duty GTO springs, coil over front shocks and rear adjustable air shocks installed. Adjustable AIR bags were also added to the rear along with JEGS traction bars for better balanced take offs. New U Joints and ball joints and bushings top and bottom. New steering center link and tie rod ends tightened up the steering! To slow this beast the front drum brakes were replaced with a Stainless Steel Brakes power front disk kit.

On the interior - new headliner, dash cover, black carpet and heavy-duty race safety seats were added. This is an important safety factor that many ignore...pick up on a SOLID pair of side-bolstered seats for your ride for comfort and safety!

Outside for sexy looks a coat of Valspar double burnt copper bronz paint was added with custom black side stripe and a set of classic Craigar rims and LeMans race rubber pulled it all together for this 71 Pontiac Sport. The Cali sun has taken its toll in places and “The Unit” could use some new paint and ding repair but no major body dents or rust even in the bottom of the trunk. Crack on right side of front windshield which was epoxy sealed. The Unit does come with a ¼ gallon of the Valspar bronze paint included for touch up along new car cover. I know I’m forgetting to include many things I replaced on this ride over 35 years but I have worked on just about every part of this car to keep things smooth running in good working order including regular synthetic oil changes. Less than 5K on the new engine and tranny.

Bottom line – This is a solid car that looks drives and sounds great and is ready to ROLL! The problem you will have is not racing all the cars that rev you at the red lights!

Located Near Downtown Encinitas north of San Diego.

Thank You and looking forward to talking to the new owner who hopefully will stay in touch!
