1966 Pontiac Grand Prix Additional Info:

1966 Pontiac Grand Prix. Frame on restored car with 53000 miles. Original colors with gold paint, lack vinyl top and gold interior. It features the original 421 4bbl engine, ut the original THM 400 transmission has been replaced with the Muncie 4 speed transmission with Hurst shifter.
This is not a "make it fit" job, t was converted with all factory correct parts. this includes the correct Muncie M20 transmission, orrect Hurst Competition Plus shifter with correct 66 Pontiac shifter handle. The correct pedals were used and the car was rewired to have the correct reverse light switch on the transmission to activate the lights. Additionally the correct clutch linkage was installed and it is indistinguishable from an original 4 speed car. Unless you check the engine code, f course.
Better still a correct 3.42 posi rear was rebuilt and installed in place of the original rear. So you have the correct axle ratio too.
Included in sale is all the automatic transmission parts. The transmission, onsole, hifter, ear, nd drive shaft will go with the car.
The car was frame on restored and is in beautiful condition. It features power steering and brakes, ower antenna, everb, m fm radio and tilt wheel. And bucket seats, orrect 4 speed console with new carpet and new REAL woodgrain trim. The steering wheel has some cracks and the dash has one also but otherwise interior is in very nice shape with a few scuffs on the original upholstery. no rips but some piping is worn off the driver seat. The paint is a shade brighter than the original gold, nd is excellent. The bumpers where rechromed.New chrome letters on fenders and decklid were installed. The panel fit is very good but not perfect. (Sometimes with this car getting best fit will chip the edges of the hood as you close it. I let it have a little more room to account for this.) The vinyl top is new. The pot metal rocker trim does have the usual pitting but is not out of context for the car. And of course, t has the iconic 8 lug wheels and raised white letter tires with new trim rings.
The engine appears stock and has all original accessories. It is fully detailed under thehood. Engine did not need rebuild but all new gaskets and wear parts were replaced and electrical components and carb rebuilt. But it has had the cam replaced with a little more high performance unit. Exhaust is not stock, he car has the HO long branch exhaust manifolds with the correct "filter tilter" oil filter adapter. Pypes 2.5 inch x pipes with Street eliminator mufflers are used with stainless steel band clamps. It sounds quite nice but is not too loud or "flowmaster" toned. The factory cross member had to be significantly modified to fit the exhaust pipes in the correct location. Chrome tips finish it out nicely
The trunk has been completely restored with correct jack and 8 lug spare, ew mat, riginal cardboards, nd fresh trunk paint.
The underside could use a little detailing, t is not perfect. Simply because I drive the car. I didn't waste the time to make it perfect or I would not want to drive it.
The car performs as new. Maybe a little better actually since I added radial tires, versized Addco sway bar, as shocks and all new rubber suspension bushings. It does stop like a drum brake car though, o don't expect modern day car braking.
The last two pictures show the car prior to restoration. It was a nice original, ot a rust bucket.
This car is fully sorted out and looks fantastic. It needs nothing to fully enjoy driving to national shows, r doing burn outs at the local ice cream stand.
Now the rest of the deal. You must transfer the title at time of sale. You must pay in cash. No checks, o payment plans. You had better be sure you can pay what you bid. I will not negotiate sale price after the auction is over. I'll just shut the garage door and ask you once to leave. So if you're serious you must, ike any other car, ome and see it and decide yourself if it's worth the price you plan to pay. Or have your agent inspect it. Its not perfect.Yes,anyone who knows cars can pick it apart. Or recognize quality when they see and drive it.
I will assist in loading but not delivery. That is all on you. And your shipper must accomadate my schedule, ot me accomadate his. I can't do that.
Why would I sell a car like this? Simply, 'm going racing.
