1976 Pontiac Trans Am Trans Am Additional Info:

This is a super rare cool survivor 1976 Special Edition Trans Am 50th Anniversary TA. These are one of the rarest TA's produce with production being only 533 of these Hurst T Top 400 AT cars every produced. This one is really cool because of all the history and documentation I have on the car as well as the super low miles on this Trans Am. Who knows how many of these rare cars are still even out there let alone in this condition. I will start with the history of this car. You can see in the documentation the car was bought new in 1976 and was purchased for Willam AKA BIFF in the paperwork. His mom bought this car for him for his 16th Birthday. Somewhere along the way Biff had a girlfriend that he made mad and she keyed the passenger side of the car at some point. Biff also wrote on some Pontiac literature love notes to this girlfriend. Some time later Biff passed away and the car was stored in a barn since 1987 or so I was told since his mom didn't know what to do with the car. So this car is a really cool survivor with all original metal, interior, paint, decals and all factory parts. The only items I am aware of that have been changed are the tires and the catalytic converter was removed at some point. The miles show 12,904 on the car and it says actual miles on the title. I am the second owner of the car. I don't believe the motor has ever been removed from the car and still has all the original factory clamps etc. All the AC componets are there and the engine bay to me knowledge is exactly like it was when it was new in 1976. The car runs and drives fine but it has sit for a while. I did have the gas drained and tuned up some since I have had it but would still go through the motor if you were to restore it. I had this car at a big car show and it got a lot of attention because of its rarity and also low mile original condition. Some people said they would leave it the way it is as a survivor. Some said they would do a complete restoration and others said they would just repaint the car and do new decals and drive it. I am confused on what to do so I thought I would list it and see what happens. The car has a ton of potential and the body is very straight with only some surface rust on the underside. There are no rust holes that I have seen anywhere on this car with frame, floors, quarters etc. All the gaps look very nice to me as well. The car looks good in the pictures but has different spots here and there with the paint since it still has the factory GM paint job from 1976. You could use it as a driver/survivor and still do nothing however it should be an easy repaint since there isn't much body work to do and all the metal is original to my knowledge. The interior is in very nice shape as well. It is a nicely optioned car with deluxe interior, tilt, 8 track player, AC, Hurst T-tops, special edition package, AM FM, Power Windows. The headliner is coming down some one little whole in passenger seat and the carpet still original has a few mouse holes in it. The car is presentable as a survivor/driver but would need to be restored to be a show car. I know there are some collectors that wouldn't touch this car though so that is one reason I am listing it. Items that I know that don't work are the Tach but the wire is cut under the hood maybe a mouse, drivers window doesn't go down but I hear the motor going so might just be off track. Also for those to work the fuse needs pushed in the fuse box because this car does have the bearing noise that is common when you start the car but than goes away so one side is lifted away on the fuse box at this point. The seals are pretty decent on the car as well. I have all the PHS documents to prove this is a real SE car, I have the window sticker, warranty cards all the original manuals and GM paperwork. If you also notice on the build sheet the car was delivered to a Smith Dealership which the car still has the original dealer tag on the trunk which is super COOL. The paint in the jambs etc I think is very nice but still has all the factory door tags including the Hurst T Top tag which is rare to see. All other factory placed tags are still in place. If you noticed the one picture I found the factory Delco tag off the front original shocks still in place by the springs which was a really cool find for anyone that might think the miles are over 100k I don't think that piece of paper would have made it all those miles and not decingrated. I only have what I was told and the actual miles on the title to prove the miles other than the condition of the car. There are a few door dings as well. The trunk spatter paint is still factory and in nice condition in the trunk with the original spare as well.
