PLEASE LOOK OVER 75 PHOTOGRAPHS BELOW.

Wow!!! Just over the 50th anniversary!!!

This is a once in a life time opportunity for a classic muscle car collector. Rare is a term thrown around a lot in the classic car hobby. I think we can all agree that the majority of sellers think their car is rarer then the next guys.

The car you are about to view with production numbers will speak for itself!!

In 1969, Plymouth built many Road Runner Coupes, about 31,397. Out of those numbers this particular 1969 Road Runner is (1) of (2) Coupes known to exist Petty Blue and (1) of (1) Petty Blue 4 speeds known to exist with these very rare options according to Chrysler historian Galen Govier's registry as seen in the documentation pictured below.

Many guys say it's a myth after NASCAR King Richard Petty left Plymouth for Ford in Late 1968, that it couldn't be ordered Petty Blue in 1969 with Richard Petty racing for Ford. Well this car is proof it could!!! Until now most Mopar collectors had no idea this car ever existed after 50 years.

Up For Auction is a Real deal Y39 Special Ordered 999 "Petty Blue"day one original Petty Blue paint survivor. This car also has all numbers matching 100% Guaranteed original day one motor 383 /335 HP, with Hurst Four Speed, and original Rear End, from the Los Angeles assembly plant in California. Also it’s 1969 (Fender Tag and Broadcast sheet) just decoded and authenticated by Galen Govier. Galen Govier states in his report that only (6 ) 1969 Petty Blue Road Runners (Hardtops/Coupes or Convertibles) in any combination are accounted for in his registry to date shown in his report in photographs shown below. This car being (1) of (1) as stated above with a 4 speed transmission.

This car has been kept from the public eye and registered only once by the original family in the last 50 years until my purchase. The next owner will be the 2nd registered owner out side of the original family since the car was sold new in 1969 to W.K. Johnson as seen in the photographs. Past history: The original owner William K. Johnson special ordered this M39 Petty Blue 999 paint 1969 Road Runner Coupe at Jack Reeds Chrysler Plymouth in Glendale, Arizona. It was delivered on March 1st of 1969. Ordered with Light & DarkBlueoriginal Interior, also performance hood paint with white longitudinal painted factory side sport stripes. William K Johnson drove this car until selling it to his brother Richard Johnson in 1976 after driving the car for seven years. His brother has kept it in the same all original conditionas it was sold to him 43 documented years ago from his brother. See photograph of owner Richard Johnson standing next to his beloved Road Runner below. It has spent its entire life in desert dry Phoenix, Arizona and was always under cover garaged.

Check out the original rust free floors on the underside showing original Petty Bluepaint. As you can see I cleaned one small spot to show the original Petty Bluepaint on the under side floor board. The dusty under carriage can be cleaned to show beautiful Petty Bluepaint and a clean metal under carriage as you can see in the photographs. I will leave the rest of this cleaning up to the new owner. All the sheet metal on this car is amazing everywhere you look. I myself like the virgin unmolested original untouched look. Also check out the original interior and trunk mat. The bumpers have never been off the car and still shine with no pitting ever. The pot metal also has no pitting and still shines bright.

Once again, I will guarantee any collector this is truly one of the most incredible original rust free 69 Road Runners you will ever find that stayed in desert dry Arizona its entire life, and without a doubt the only 1969 Petty Bluecoupe 4 speed in world that has stayed with the original family for over 50 years documented in this survivor original paint condition. What a time warp!!!

Many people would stop over the years, trying and failing to purchase this car from Richard Johnson as it was in front of his home. In 2019, Richard Johnson realized he was getting older so it was time to sell and to let some other muscle car Road Runner collector enjoy the car. I have verifiedall the numbers & documented them through photos also shown in photos below. The car runs and drives excellent and was always taken care of and babied since new.

PLEASE NOTE ONCE AGAIN THIS CAR HAS NOT BEEN CLEAR COATED AND ONLY POLISHED WITH BUFFER.

The entire engine was rebuilt with build receipts and I was told by Richard Johnson he felt he didn’t put more than 6000 low miles since the rebuild. The transmission was rebuilt, new clutch pressure plate and throw out bearing were also installed at the same time. This motor runs like a Swiss watch.

He also did the whole front end with all new upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends with all new Polly bushings replacing the rubber bushings from 1969, and new brake shoes. It drives nice and tight. A new fuel pump, along with a brand new Edlebrock carburetor for smooth running, and a electronic distributor were just installed so no more headache points to adjust. I have the original numbers matching carburetor that will go with the car.

I also just put all new fluids filters, brand new battery and new fan belt not even 2 miles ago.The tires are older and should be replaced with new radial red line tires for safe driving. All lights, directionals, reverse lights, and emergency brake work great. Richard Johnson also said he felt that the rare factory air conditioning was dealer installed from what he could remember that his brother had the dealership do at his request. He couldn’t find the air conditioner compressor after decades and said if he found it he would send it to me.

Please note I am selling this car without the air compressor and brackets. They are available on the internet. This car still retains the original painted faded longitudinal stripes and man does this car have a great patinathat only mother nature’s art work can produce after 50 years. Truly a one of a kind patina that can not be reproduced or duplicated. The car has been professionally polished and buffed and the old paint brought back to life nice and shiny with

ONCE AGAIN NO CLEAR COAT EVER!! JUST ORIGINAL FACTORY DAY ONE PAINT!!

The interior is complete and original. Driver side seat showing wear, along with rear driver side tear.I put a blanket over the front seat to preserve the original fabric when driving this old muscle car.

This is a Los Angeles California built car with partialBroadcastsheet found under the back bench seat. (That's RARE alone!!!!).Many guys say its nearly impossible to find a Broadcast sheet from the LA plant in 1969. The original fender tag, VIN Plate, VIN Stamp on the trunk lip, motor, transmission, and radiator support are all present and once again photographed here for your viewing. Original dated owners manualpacket with original owners name and sold dealership name information, with the VIN attached to it matching the last names also proving its been in the same family all since purchasing in 1969 for 50 years.

Clear Arizona Title which matches to everything.Original owner registrations. A signed Notarized statement letter from Richard Johnson of family history for 50 years documenting original numbers matching, Recent photograph of Richard Johnson with car the day he sold it, along with three ring binder, and much more. Please see in photos below. Too much to list..Please call for full description 978-939-5053

I have a three ring binder full of documentation..Please check my feed back and feel comfortable bidding. Also Google Petty Blue1969 Road Runner to see just how RARE this car is. I do have many many detailed photos. This Roadrunner is an original car that has never been abused or fully restored. I would leave the incredible original condition alone and show it off at car shows just as you see it here. This car should never be restored or repainted in my opinion. As they say they are only original once!!!
