It's a factory Notch Back car and is done in the factory color combination that appears to have a lot of the original paint as well. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, interior, and driveline of this Plymouth, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.
Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 70 to 80 cars at all times. We don't have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So, that's how we can sell for less than other dealers. We will start off with the exterior of the Barracuda. As you walk around it you can see that all of the body is phenomenal on it with possibly the best fit of the panels we've seen on one of these cars. The doors open and close with a seamless effort and an excellent fit. All your gaps at the doors, hood and trunk are even and symmetrical as well. The monotone White has a brilliant shine to it and is accented by the Black Stripes down the sides. This '68 features the Formula S 383 hood treatment along with the working hood blinkers. Both bumpers look to be original for this car and in excellent condition. The rest of the chrome and stainless is also phenomenal and has been polished to a brilliant shine. You will also notice that the glass appears to be original with all the side windows operating with ease. To finish off the exterior it's sitting on a set of 14" Steel Wheels with the Red Streak Tires.
Next, we will look on the inside of this Formula S 383. On the inside it's done in black which is the factory option and flows perfectly with the exterior color combo. A lot of this interior appears to be original as well and is all in phenomenal condition. It features the Bucket Seats and the all important Four Speed Shifter. All the door panels, carpet, and headliner are all in great condition. Looking at the dash you can see some light age showing on the dash pad, but everything else looks amazing. It has the straight from 68 look with the factory gauges that are working along with the working Solid Stat Radio. All the dash lights are working as the should along with the map light, even the key light is working in this Barracuda. In the trunk it's in excellent condition all appears original.
Finally, we will get to the driveline of this Plymouth. Under the hood it features the original 383 Engine that's set up with the correct heads, intake and 4426S Carter Carburetor. For exhaust it has the correct manifolds with dual pipes and Dynomax Mufflers with the correct tips exiting out the rear valance. The engine bay has a gorgeous detail and looks just like it would have when new in 68. The 383 is dressed in the Chrome Valve Covers and Super Commando 383 Air Cleaner. It has the fender tag on the inner fender and it the correct numbers on the radiator support. The 383 engine is mated to the matching numbers Four Speed Trans that goes out to the Correct Sure Grip "489" 8 " Rear End with around a 3.23 Gear.
