1950 Plymouth Other special deluxe Additional Info:

Up for your consideration is a 1950 Plymouth woody. Only 2057 of these were made in 1950,and they were the most expensive car Plymouth offered that year. Who knows how many of these have survived? My guess is not many. This was the last true(wood-framed) wagon made in the USA. I have owned this car for about 15 years. I even built the garage it's in to preserve it. My dream was to restore it and drive it to the beach surfing, but my circumstances have changed,so it's up for sale. The car is very complete, but the wood needs replacing. All the door hinges, window mechanisms, etc are there. There is surface rust on all exterior body parts, but the metal is fairly solid. The frame is solid. It will need some work on the rockers. The roof is nice and straight with no holes and good rain gutters. The pillars between the doors are still pretty good, excellent for patterns. Unfortunately the doors and rear hatch will need all the wood replaced, but what is there will make a good pattern. The headliner is shot, but the seat covers look pretty good. It has all of the seats, which is great, because they are often missing. There are extra parts including: front fenders, engine, transmission, clutch, distributor, various trim and lenses, interior parts, etc. Please study the photos and ask questions if you have any. Also included is a pile of nice dry White Ash lumber for the framework(cost me @900.) I even built a duplicate carving machine you can have if you like. I really wish I could keep this one,as I'll probably never get another chance to restore a classic woody, but life has thrown me a curve ball, and I am having to downsize somewhat. If you are ready for a project that will challenge you and help you hone your woodworking skills, look no further. Please bid only if you are serious about owning the car. Car will need to be picked up within 2 weeks of auction end. I will assist with loading. Thanks for checking out my auction!
