1961 PLYMOUTH FURY 4 DOOR – LOW MILES – EXCELLENT & VERY RARE

This 1961 Plymouth Fury is mostly original with 62,344 miles showing on the odometer which is believed to be correct. This car is in excellent to pristine condition. It was originally owned by a lady in Madera California up until the early 1990’s and still retains the dealer license plate frames. The second owner purchased it from the lady’s family and drove it up until 2007. He then put the car into storage due to an extended over seas job assignment. I purchased this Fury in 2015 from him. This car is in incredible condition, very straight and rust free. It is equipped with the original 318 poly head 260 hp engine and a push button controlled 3 speed automatic. It has power steering, power brakes and air conditioning. Due to sitting for so long, the car had several mechanical and cosmetic issues that I have addressed, including:

Mechanical – Engine was pulled, detailed and new freeze plugs installed, heads given a valve job with hardened seats, the original carburetor was rebuilt, new water pump, new battery, gas tank relined, radiator and heater core re-cored, new hoses, new belts. The AC has not been reconnected since the engine work was done but I have all the hoses, fittings, etc.

Suspension – Front end completely rebuilt, new bushings, new ball joints, brakes completely rebuilt, new shoes, new cylinders, rear end rebuilt, new bearings, new seals, new tires installed.

Exterior – Original “Robin Egg” blue paint has a nice luster and is very presentable. The chrome trim is very straight and shiny and there is a lot of it. The bumpers are near perfect. The glass is near perfect. There are a few dings and dents that were incurred by the original owner but these are minor and easily repairable. Doors and panels all align good except the driver’s door which needs a slight readjustment.

Interior – The front and back seats were recovered by Award Interior in Sacramento using a near perfect match to the original materials. The white vinyl seat inserts were embossed with the Plymouth Rocket Ship logo to match the original. These seats are gorgeous. The door panels are original and almost flawless. The carpet and floor mats are original and very good. The headliner is in tact but does need a cleaning. The sun visors need replaced. The dash pad has a few cracks but is presentable.

I have a clean California title and the car is licensed thru March 2018. Thanks – Jim at 916-709-9766
