Vehicle Overview
1955 Packard Clipper Custom Constellation Hardtop Coupe,39K miles,Museum Quality
Up for sale is a 1955 Packard Clipper Constellation Hardtop Coupe. This was the top of the line Packard Clipper and came with all the bells and whistles including the larger 352 cubic inch V8 motor and the load leveling suspension. Very nice car with only39,070 documented milessince new. Documentation and history that comes with the car goes back about 30 years.
It is a very original car that has been repainted once in it's lifetime and still retains it's original factory applied color scheme. I have gone over every inch of the car with a digital paint gauge and can confirm it has only been repainted one time, has all of it's original rust free sheet metal and is Bondo free. The Paint is in in excellent shape and the body is laser straight. It also appears that all the trim is original and unrestored and in very good condition as well.
The interior appears all original as well with the exception of the carpet which is a correct replacement of the original. The interior is stunning and the instrument cluster is spectacular and looks like the day it rolled off the showroom floor in all it's original glory.
The motor and transmission were pulled from the car and looks like it had a concours correct detail. I am not sure how extensive the mechanical work was but can tell you it runs flawlessly and starts on the first flick of the key. It runs and drives great down the road as well and is truly a trip down memory lane.
The undercarriage of this Packard looks totally original and untouched, it is actually very impressive how well this car has been preserved.
