Texas Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to showcase this stunning AC Cobra MK IV by Autokraft. These rare aluminum-bodied Cobras are practically a continuation of the original Cobras. These Roadsters are as close to an original Shelby Cobra MK III as you can find without the 7 figure price tag. Extremely well-sorted both mechanically and cosmetically, the Autokraft Cobra's are true drivers machines. The Autokraft LTD. company acquired original tooling, dies, and bucks from AC themselves during a company fire sale in the early 1980s. The family who owned the AC name was so impressed by the Autokraft company they eventually sold them the rights to the AC name in 1986. Only a handful of these cars were built year to year from the early 80s until the early 90s, a total number of only 480. Autokraft would even partner up with Ford for a number of years beginning in 1987. This is your opportunity to own one of the original AutoKraft MK IV AC Cobras. Just over 19,000 miles have been logged on this original 1986 example & it is complete with full owner history. Enjoy our presentation and feel free to contact Dave at 214-213-7072 or Maris at 214-616-2317 with any questions.

Autokraft's continuation models are so accurate that they are even included in the SAAC registry ( AK #1185 )
Many of our photos of this low-flyer were take at the historic Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum. Be sure to visit the historic Flight Museum if you find yourself in Dallas, Texas.
Always garage-kept, this Cobra wears its original lusterous black paint. The paint is still in very good condition throughout, with a few very minor nics and scracthes. It has a traditional full tonneau snap cover along with side curtains and a car cover included.
The wheels of choice are beautiful and original Halibrand aluminum alloy knock-offs sized at 16x7 front & 16x8 rear, spinner safety wire, & fitted with updated B.F. Goodrich G-Force Sport radials all around.
The interior is just beautifully done and well-sorted. AutoKraft remained true to the original Cobras in design, however they tailored the car to accomodate individuals of larger stature much better than the original Shelby MK III cars.
Full Smiths instrumentation includes a 170mph speedometer and 7,000 rpm tachometer along with a clock and standard engine metering gauges. The shifter of choice is a Shelby-style unit behind the Borg-Warner T5 manual transmission. Shelby style seat belts are also utilized. The original shifter and seat belt assemblies originally speced by AutoKraft are included.
The engine is the original 302 cubic inch V8. In addition to the mild performance roller camshaft, this powerplant features some traditional performance additions including a dual plane aluminum intake manifold & Holley 4bbl. carburetor. Aluminum alloy cylinder heads are also utilized along with Ford Racing headers. Be sure to play our video, the rear exiting exhaust system sounds amazing. You really have to drive this car to experience it, but the high definition video certainly helps the senses. The engine is dressed with finned aluminum valve covers as well.
The original identification plates are intact and legible.
The chassis is in excellent condition. The suspension consists of independent front & rear unequal wishbone-type with Koni coil spring shocks. The differential houses a Salisbury limited slip.

Original brochures and production information is included.

There is a great article in the 1986 issue of Automobile Magazine about these great cars. The magazine and the AutoKraft brochure are included with the car.Enjoy our remaining photo slideshow.
