1964 Amphicar 770 Additional Info:

For sale is beautifully restored '64 Amphicar - painted in the original Fjord Green.

This car has only been in LAKE water in the 13yrs I've owned it. NO SALT. ~900 miles since restoration.

The engine is a 1500cc Spitfire engine that was completely rebuilt - w/ a 'sportier' cam than the stock cam - so it likely has ~90-100hp, vs the 43hp of the original 1147cc engine. It runs VERY strong.

Also, has a 2-Barrel Weber carburetor - 32/36 DGEV (electric choke) w/ orig. Amphi air filter housing, and aluminum intake manifold. Has a custom-made header, and an electric fuel pump.

It has the later model transmission - with an after-market dipstick - for monitoring transmission oil level as well as any water intrusion.

Ceramic coated items: (for better heat mitigation)

Custom-made exhaust header

Aluminum intake manifold

Original style muffler

The entire interior of the body (hull-?) has been 'Rhino-Coated' (LineX - ?) - and it has a 1/4" plexiglass floor panel - great for seeing all of the cabling, shifters, hoses, etc. in the bottom of the floor.Stainless steel lower fan shroud (see photo)

In doing the interior - since I was never fond of the original 'apricot' color that came stock on the Fjord Green cars, I elected to use a green vinyl (marine-grade) that closely matches the body color.

The wheel brake cylinders have been machined and STAINLESS sleeves installed. This alone cost ~$500 plus considerable labor to re-fit.

The entire interior of the body (hull-?) has been 'Rhino-Coated' (LineX - ?) - and it has a 1/4" plexiglass floor panel - great for seeing all of the cabling, shifters, hoses, etc. in the bottom of the floor. Outside of hull is under-coated.

The car has been modified to be NEGATIVE GROUND. This also includes the correct Amphi clock that has been updated w/ new 'digital' internal works, as well as the wiring modification necessary for the fuel gauge to work w/ negative ground.

It has a Stainless steel lower fan shroud (see photo)

AM/FM radio

All electrical items work as they should.
