Immaculate Original Condition Always Stored In a Heated Garage
In 1960,the Auburn Cord Duesenberg factory was sold and all its original parts inventory, hop drawings, ucks and jigs were utilized by west coast artisans to create an instant secondary Auburn Speedster's market. As astute automobile collector and former Ford Chairman Lee Iacocca stated these second generation Auburns are "A continuation of an iconic American Classic". Due to a legal omission in the purchase of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Company the Auburn Boat Tail Speedster trade mark lapsed into public domain allowing after market builders and fabricators to recreate replicas or more appropriately termed "Second Generation" cars with new-old Auburn stock and recast and also re-manufactured parts. This absolutely is NOTa kit car. The same omission in protecting the trade mark occurred with Carroll Shelby's Cobra and the Ford GT 250 allowing replicas into the market.
