This car stands out from the rest primarily due to ZERO rust anywhere, ever. Rock solid TX car, check out the underside pictures/rear quarters/driver's floor. Believed to be 50K original miles; drives absolutely amazingly at 75 mph! This is a classic that'll keep pace with modern traffic! Everything functions as it should, including the windows and top. If you know these cars, then you know 1955 was the year GM went to the much more reliable and easily serviced electrics (from hydraulics for the power seat and windows) . Also the last year of the original and venerable Hydra-Matic. 1956 Brought a totally revamped transmission with many teething problems. 1955 is the best year to have for all around drive-ability! This car is dependable, rugged and easily serviced. Original code "10" solid black Starfire. The interior was redone in Naugahyde that looks decent but should be white and red leather, code "350." I contacted "SMS Auto fabrics" they have the correct leather on hand - $4K for the leather, and had $2K bid to have installed. I have built this consideration into my price. A lot of folks have asked about the reserve. Since this is an auction, and to be totally fair to everyone - I will not reveal it. I will state that I believe the car is on course to met the very fair and modest reserve. You won't find a nicer one for the price this one will sell for. And yes, all the chrome and stainless is in outstanding condition, all the bright works has a deep lustrous shine, no dullness. I've never attempted to detail the intricate dash, or the car in general, plus the pictures were taken with my phone. When the purchaser gets this car, they will be blown away, it's truly remarkable. I'm selling because I have other remarkable cars that I'm taking to the next level.
