1971 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Custom Additional Info:

This Olds is part of an estate. The original owners passed. The Olds sat in a covered garage in Southern California and is on California Non-Op (but now is currently tagged in California-2017 tags), The car was stored from about 2006 to 2015. We have original pictures when the car was found locked in the garage, covered with dust and flat tires.
The owners bought this Olds new in Downey, California in March of 1971. The odometer indicates 65,000 miles (give or take a few miles). This Olds appears to have very low miles.
This Olds along with several other vehicles, were removed in November of 2015--the home was sold. The cars had to be removed since the original house was sold.
The Olds was brought to a local shop where work was performed to bring the car back to driveable condition.
New radiator, rebuilt carburetor, intake manifold gaskets replaced, Front end work performed, cleaned fuel tank and replaced items to insure the cars runnability along with brake work. The receipts totaled close to $3400 in repairs.
Along with mechanical work, the outside paint was waxed and buffed. The vinyl roof was treated. The car is not perfect. But is an original copy with very little road use along with long term storage in its history. The 455 big block runs as it should. The automatic transmission shifts as it should. The car has factor AC which was R-12 freon which should now be converted to R-134. The rear view mirror on the windshield needs to be reglued back on. But the mirror is laying in the backseat.
The car DOES have old bias ply tires. While the car will roll and drive on these tires, it is not recommended that this Olds be driven for any length of time on the street. A tire or tires could self destruct and could damage the sheet metal on the car. The Olds could use new shocks. There is one small hole in the exhaust as the tailpipe assembly goes over the differential. So the car rumbles a bit. The estate trustee recommended a good set of 235-70-15 radials, KYB shocks and dual exhaust system with Flowmasters to make the car truly an original ride along with dependability.
The Olds has the original seat covers, as can be seen in the pictures. The hubcaps are in the trunk for safekeeping. The car has the original California plates.
Since the car is in an estate and needs to be sold, we are open for offers. Shipping will be totally the responsibility of the buyer. The car does run and drive, so movement up onto a car carrier, or car trailer is not a problem. I personally drove the car around the block. It was quite a throwback to 1971 era when cars were huge and the engines were even bigger.
The neighbors of the older couple who bought this car new, said that it was their pride and joy. The car has had very little use and undoubtedly never been outside of SoCal until November of 2015. The car is amazingly original.
Payment: The estate would request that $500 deposit be sent to the PayPal Account of this Ebay user. BUT---the balance would need to be paid in person upon delivery of the car to the new owner, or certified check sent to the estate trustee or estate attorney before the car is removed from Central California. The balance is NOT to be sent to PayPal. But paid in person. Per the request of the probate court overseeing the distribution of funds.
Yes, we will consider all offers.
The Olds is in Central California, Fresno-Clovis, California. New buyers are encouraged to contact the Ebay Account holder, and view this Oldsmobile in person. The estate chooses not to sell to buyers outside of the Continental USA for various reasons. But, if a buyer is from Europe, then payment must be in full before the car is released to the shipper.
Payment can be handled through the probate attorney if the buyer chooses. This is an honest legitimate sale of an estate car. The goal is to sell the car. But the Olds will be sold as-is/where-is.
We would be willing to trade: One of the attorney's wants a 67-68 Ford Cortina GT. Or a Vanagon Doka. Or a 72 Honda N600 micro car.
