1949 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Additional Info:

I am selling my father's 1949 Oldsmobile. He passed away in December of 2016 and now, my mom needs to pay some bills and we need to sell his car. He was a Shriner and drove this in many parades for the Belchertown Masonic Lodge (the Vernon lodge) and he showed it in local car shows. It won many awards before he bought it and a bunch after. It has been in the garage for about 6 years now. He drove it in, and parked it. I have started it up a few times but not recently. When he was alive, he'd start it regularly, polish it with a diaper, sing it to sleep, he really loved it. He drove me and my first wife to our wedding in it, and both me and my brother to several proms in high school. This model was the NASCAR pace car I believe and is iconic for its step-down transmission (probably mis-quoting my dad here). The interior was redone by the famous Park Lane Auto in Palmer. The chrome needs polishing, the whitewalls should be replaced, but other than that, this was a strong competitor for best in show many times (local shows). We have seen one go on Barrett Jackson for a mint! I am offering this one, without updating the chrome, wheels, and paint, or a tune up etc. at a really competitive price. If I don't reach that number, I'll probably send it to a garage to have it spruced up, and list it higher, or send it to an auction house. He let me drive it once in the mid-90s and I remember it hunkered down and flew. If you have any questions, send 'em along. Thanks for reading. Sam
