1973 Oldsmobile Other Additional Info:

1973 OLDSMOBILE DELTA 88 ROYALE CONVERTIBLE. I found this olds in a garage up the road from me in 2014, here it had sat undisturbed for 12 years. I am the second owner of this oldsmobile. It was ordered from the factory with the 455 4bbl, nd heavy duty towing package, nd HD cooling. It had a class4 receiver built into the frame rail whichI did remove, nd trailer brake controller, hich is still in the car just not connected.I spent a summer rebuilding the rear quarters, riginally beige, painted it yellow. installed a new top. full length headers, ull dual exhaust, ew tires, rake master cylinder, roportioning valve, heel cylinders, alipers, ads, otors, rake shoes. as I was working on it I found the original 455 had been replaced with a 403, ummer, h well. drove the car for a few weeks, nd the oil light began flashing. drained the oil and found it full of metal. so it sat for a year as is. Just finished swapping out the 403 for a low mileaged1973 455 out of a toronado. it is a 73 455 however it is a non-egr motor. before install, ain and rod bearings were checked, eads were removed and replaced with a pair of rebuilt heads I had, ll new gaskets, eals, nd water pump. also swapped in the hei distributor from the 403, nd an edelbrock 4 barrel carb. the new motor runs very nicely, as a nice throaty tone, ood oil pressure, nd make no funny noises. this car runs and drives very well and if I had to drive it across country tomorrow I wouldn't hesitate.

THE GOOD - top work well, ar drives nicely, ew tires, rakes, xhaust, otor very sound. new radiator/hoses. frame and body very solid. coil over front shocks, ear air shocks, ides very well

THE BAD - paint and top were a rush job. after spending the summer and fall working on the body, inter was coming and had to done quickly. the car was painted outside because my shop wasn't big enough to paint inside. it looks good from 10 feet away but does have a good amount of orange peel as the temperature was too cool for the paint to level out. the top was essentially put on very quickly as well and should be adjusted or done over professionally. it does work as is, f it's warm and the sun is always shining it's nothing to worry about, ut does leak while driving tin the rain. the rear quarters had be custom made and are not perfect, nd yes there is body filler in there to help with the shape but all rotted metal was cut out and replaced with 18ga steel. there are some problem area with the trunk floor and there was some patchwork done to the floor under the rear seat.

Yes,it is very yellow. it was originally a beige/pearl but yellow was at the time my daughters favorite color so oldsmobile omega yellow it is. I have a gallon extra if winning bidder wants it. door jams have not been painted.

This car gets a lot of attention everywhere it goes, hether it's thumbs up people loving it or people scowling at it's total lack of respect for the environment ( we don't like them anyway) so grab your cigar and hawaiin shirt and bid away. I think covered everything, eel free to ask any questions.
