I bought this car in July 2011in Michigan for $1800.00. I shipped it home and started major repairs. I had an engine and transmission from a 1969 Toronado already out of the car and took them to have them professionally rebuilt. The transmission rebuild cost $699.71, the engine heads were redone at a different shop than the engine. The cost to redo the heads was $350.00. The engine rebuild was $1400.00. I have all the receipts for overhauls and repairs. I had the inner and outer wheel bearings replaced, both half shafts( the front drive axles), new Edelbrock carburetor for $374.49, new fly wheel, rear inner and outer wheel bearings, new oil sending unit, new temperature sending unit, paid to have the engine and transmission replaced, cost $953.74. Replaced front shocks, rear has four shocks, could only find two of them, replaced them, brake shoes and wheel cylinders, had new aluminum gas tank made for $375.00, replaced heater hoses and belts, and radiator hoses, had four new Big-O tires installed, $499.63. Installed all new tune up parts, wiper blades and turn signal flasher. Replaced the starter, alternator, starter solenoid, everything that I could think of to have this car in the best possible mechanical condition to last for years.Also recently changed oil and filter with Amsoil oil and filter, 100% synthetic motor oil. The car has not been driven for several months. I do charge the battery and crank the engine over occasionally to lubricate the engine parts. The car ran great, transmission works perfectly. The carburetor is a 750 Edelbrock and I don't think there is enough fuel getting to the carburetor when the accelerator is pushed down and going into passing gear and kicking in the four barrel. The engine would spit and sputter and act as if it were out of gas. The engine resumed smooth operation as soon as the pedal was let up. I am not sure the person who made the gas tank installed a large enough fitting for the required amount of gasoline flow required. Also, the gas line may be too small. I don't know for sure what the problem is. The car had 33,217 miles on it when I bought it, it now has 34,001 on it. I bought the car from the original owners son. The father was deceased. I have put less than 800 miles on the car. The odometer I am sure has turned over making the mileage 134,001. The car has sat out here for years and I am ready to sell it to someone who will take care of it and do the required body work. The rear fenders have rust, the trunk also has some rust due to the fact that the rear vent drained through a large rubber hose on each side of the trunk and through the trunk to the outside. Over the years the rubber deteriorated and allowed water to run into the trunk. It is not rotted out, just the sides where the hoses went through the trunk. The seats need to be redone. The dash and headlinerwere in great condition when I parked it. I am sure they still are, I am selling the car as is with absolutely no guarantees. As I stated earlier, I do have the receipts to show that all this work has been performed and it will be provided to the new owner. There is a nonrefundable deposit of $250.00 within 48 hours of auctions end with the balance due in cash on pick up of vehicle. I know that I will take a great loss but the car needs to go to a new home. There are some papers and parts inside the car and trunk. I do apologize for this, I should have removed them before taking the pictures. I could not get the hood release to work so that I could take pictures of the engine compartment. I will try to get the hood up, take a few pictures and add them later.
