1985 Nissan 300ZX GL Additional Info:

Nissan 300ZX Turbo. You know the car, but do you know what it's like to drive one?
This is the 1985 model year. Nissan added smoked tail lights and the license lamp was changed from "300ZX" to "300ZX TURBO." The turbocharger was upgraded from air and oil cooled, to water and oil cooled.
Look around and what do you see? 84's, 86, 87-89 NA's. I rarely see an 85 Turbo, and if I do it's rusted out, being sold for parts, or is sitting in the junk yard. This is an all original 85 Turbo with no rust on the undercarriage.
The previous owner bought it from a lady who kept it garaged. He also kept it garaged which really helped reduce weathering of the car. The previous owner also had the valve cover gaskets done and had a a tune-up performed. The clutch was done in 2012 and not many miles have been put on the car since then.
It currently has 104,474 miles on it. That is very low for a 32 year old car. These engines are known to last up to 450,000 miles. They are extremely tough and reliable and I have never had a major problem with them.
The five speed manual transmission shifts though all gears with no problems. The engine delivers smooth, effortless power through all rpms making this car a real pleasure to drive. This car is fast for a stock Turbo Z. It blows away most modern cars. You'll get more looks in this car than in a modern premium sports or muscle car.
Everything works, lights, horn, defrost, a/c, voice warning system a.k.a. Bitchin Betty (she warns you when you're low on fuel etc.), power windows work except the driver side power window has been getting hung up. It will fully raise with a bit of help. AC still blows cold but it could probably used a recharge. The muffler has an exhaust leak, however I have a new turbo muffler ready to be installed. It will come with the car.
Body is straight and paint is still shiny. There is one dime sized ding on the hood on the passenger side toward the nose. Easily repairable with some PDR. There is one scratch along the hood scoop but it can be buffed out. Pin stripping and turbo decals are in-tact and not faded. Previous owner informed me that his lady neighbor backed into the passenger side door in a low-speed collision. He had it professionally repaired, but they were unable to find replacement molding. Therefore, the original molding is on the door. I have a replacement door for it and the molding is in perfect condition. I can send pics of the replacement door on request and it'd be another $199.00 if you want the replacement door.
This would make a very nice summer car or weekend cruiser. I think its even good enough to take to a car show. It's not showroom quality, but it would still be perfectly fine to take to an antique car show. It would also make a great base car for a special build, but I would keep it the way it is. Either way, you'll be getting a really nice car. Why drive a Porsche or Ferrari when you can drive a 300ZX Turbo and be that much cooler for a fraction of the cost?
