1994 Nissan 300ZX Turbo Coupe 2-Door Additional Info:

A short introduction about the 300Z if you are not familiar.
The only 90's performance vehicle from Japan that Car and Driver placed the Z32 (300ZX) on its Ten Best list for 7 consecutive years (1990 to 1996), (Toyota Supra and Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 were not and the Mazda RX7 was on the list from 93-95). In 2006 Automobile Magazine listed the 300ZX as one of the "20 Greatest Cars in the Past 20 Years"; In 2010 GQ Magazine listed the 300ZX as the "Top 20 Stylish Cars Over the Past 50 Years."
As of today, I believe there are less than 15 of the original (not converted) 1994 300ZX Twin Turbo series with manual 5 speed transmission left in the USA. By 2019, this car will qualify as a Classic, the value will go up and no more worries about emissions testing!
I love this Black Emerald (DJ2) 300ZX Twin turbo the year it came out (less than 829 TT produced). I have to admit that the 95 and 96 are a little better but the 1994 is very special to me. I really do not want to sell this car but it will be tough to take it out of state with me during my move in the next few months. I spent so many hours upgrading this vehicle that my wife calls it my mistress. I stopped driving it to work because the roads were so bad and the dust was messing up the old paint even more. Over the past 3 yrs, I have driven it less than 100 miles. Over the past 7 years I owned this car, I put less than 8,000 miles on it.
I was in the process of installing the BBK brakes upgrades and suspension; the engine, seats and paint were next on the list. Going fast without proper suspension and brakes is a very bad idea! Sadly, I have been traveling extensively over the past 2.5 yrs that my upgrades are not moving along very quickly.
Lots of nice upgrades!
Brakes:
  • Akebono calipers and OEM rotors BBK from the 370Z on this car and it stops so much shorter than stock with only the front installed ($2500);
  • Brake booster - lifetime warranty from Advance Auto Parts

Suspension:
  • PowerTrix coil over ($1000);
  • Courtesy Nissan Front Strut Bar Strut Brace ($100) - needs to be installed
  • PowerTrix rear strut tower bar ($250);- needs to be installed
  • Suspension Technique anti sway bars (Front and rear - $400),- rear needs to be reinstalled
  • SPL front outer tie rod ends ($275);
  • Tie rod rebuild with Energy Suspension bushings

Engine/ Transmission:
  • Manual transmission (30k miles) replacement ($1000)
  • 100k miles service ($1000) - timing belt, water pump (Iifetime warranty), gasket, etc
  • Stillen side mount intercoolers ($450)
  • Z1 one piece drive shaft ($350)
  • Clutch (less than 5k miles) ($300) / Slave Cylinder
  • Single intake Pop Charger
  • Underdrive pulley/ belts ($400)

Exhaust:
  • Stainless steel Greddy exhaust ($1000)

Wheels
  • 350Z 18 inch wheels ($1000)

Headlights/ Radio
  • HID upgrade ($250);
  • Reupholstered the leather seats but I am not happy with the craftsmanship ($500); planning on upgrading to racing seats to save 150lbs.
  • Alpine CDA radio upgrade along with speakers ($650)
  • leather seats reupholstered ($500)

Items that needs help, A pillar on the driver side (cracked) but a new one can be ordered ($70); Top gauge cluster dash trim panel and center arm rest console (cracked from age and sun stressed); when I drove the car to a relative's house to hold it while I am gone, I noticed a slight hesitation of the engine under load (possibly a bad coil - i have plenty spares). There's an engine light that came on when I started the car two months ago, I have no had a chance to find out what the light is about. This is limiting the boost to 6 psi at this moment.

I did not install the interior in the back because the Powertrix rear strut tower bar needs to be installed.

I have invested over $10k in this car over the past 5 yrs to make the car better. Sadly, I have not finished all the upgrades yet and the car needs a paint job when the upgrades are done.

My car runs and drives but tags have long expired and not all the interior parts are reinstalled. i will give you all the parts I have along with spares (over $1000) and upgrades for you to complete.
I do not recommend extended drives with this car because 1) it needs an alignment due to my suspension adjustments 2) tires are old from sitting for 3 yrs and 3) tags have expired (2014).
Thanks for looking and please ask questions before bidding. I am out of town until October 21 so I cannot show the car until I return..
I reserve the rights to end this auction early.
