1957 Metropolitan, Restored, NO RESERVE

1957 Nash METROPOLITAN 1500 Additional Info:

This vehicle underwent a complete frame off restoration of the body and interior in 1996 by Horseless Carriage Restorations of Duanesburg, NY. Mileage at that time was 46,000. Current mileage is 49,288. I assume these odometer readings are correct but have no way of verifying it.

In 2013 the brakes and clutch were rebuilt. Mileage at that time was 48,975.

In 2015 a major mechanical restoration was undertaken. Most of the work was done by Metropolitan Restoration Services, Inc. of Hartleton, PA. Some of the restoration work done:

Complete Suspension Rebuild: New Shocks, New Springs, New Bushings, Et. New Rear Window Seals, New Upper Door Seals, New Master Cylinder, New Distributor, New PetroMax Pointless Ignition System Installed, Rebuilt Carburetor Installed, Rebuilt Fuel Pump Installed, Converted from Positive Ground to Negative Ground, Generator Replaced with New Alternator. New Exhaust System, Radio Rebuilt, New Ignition Switch, Water Temperature/Oil Pressure Gauge Installed, Voltage Gauge Installed, Speedometer Rebuilt and New Speedometer Cable, Trafficator Rebuilt (Turn Signal Switch), Rebuilt Fuel Gauge, New Battery, New Tie Rod Ends,and many other items too numerous to list

In 2016 an auxiliary electric fuel pump was installed. The paint job is in very good shape but is not perfect. There are a few minor chips from driving and several chips have been hit with touch up paint. Although it has won and will wintrophies at car shows, this not a "Trailer Queen" show car. It is completely road worthy and ready to be driven on a daily basis. It will make someone an excellent daily driver. A FREE Custom Made Car Cover costing more than $400 will be included. Please be aware that this a 60 year old vehicle. Although it is in excellent condition it is not a new car so don't expect one. This vehicle is being sold as is. NOTE: This car is titled as a Metropolitan. In 1954 AMC dropped the Nash designation and went with the straight Metropolitan name even though it was sold though Nash and Hudson dealers. I had to include Nash in the listing to get EBay Motors to list it- they don't have a Metropolitan in their car listing options.
