Our first FTO! Woo!!! Surely like us, this is a car that many of you have been curious about for a long time. It was probably one of, if not THE first car you purchased in Gran Turismo. What’s not to like here? Light weight, balanced handling, good 90’s looks with an interior to match, and a screaming 2.0L V6 with an 8,000 RPM redline. Even for such a small V6, it feels more torquey than a comparable 4-cylinder. But thanks to Mitsubishi’s MIVEC variable valve timing system, it fully comes alive up top. Truth be told, it also sounds a hell of a lot better than a 4-cylinder, too. The intake and exhaust systems on the car make sure that mashing that gas and hearing it wind up will make you smile. Now, this car isn’t fast by any means. It doesn’t even top 200 hp. Though, it does not feel slow, thanks to its light weight. It’s easy and comfortable to drive too, and the a/c even works! Everyone has experienced that feeling in some way, shape, or form when you got excited about something, only to find out reality is a lot lamer than the legend. We’re happy to say with the Mitsubishi FTO, that just ain’t true!
