1987 Mitsubishi Starion Additional Info:
Selling my recently acquired for project 1987 Mitsubishi Starion ESI-R. Purchased the vehicle in the Summer of 2018 with a bad engine. The vehicle is originally from San Ramon, CA where it had resided its whole life. The first owner retained the vehicle until 1997 when it was transferred to the second owner, not sure if family or not but in the same area and that owner owned it from 2017 for two years until I acquired it in late 2018. The vehicle has been resprayed in its original Gold color but not sure when. I can tell you that its a very nice paint job and shows very well. Includes an original non cracked air dam, 16" wheels with 70% good tires, serviced brakes and rotors, completely rebuilt engine with a new head, pistons, 20 over bored, seals, oil pump, good turbo with no shaft play, good manifold with no cracks, no overheating, new battery, recently updated and upgraded injectors, all working lights, sliding belts thought the driver side is a bit weak, minor spider web cracks on the rear spoiler, original tools, spare tire, original interior in all working condition except for the cassett deck, no cracks whatsoever on the dash or on the other panels and overall very well cared for and presentable 32 year old Japanese Turbo coupe. The engine rebuilt was completed by a local shop, a friend of mine where every bit and piece of the engine has been hot tanked and meticulously cleaned before assembly. The removal and installation has been performed by me to the last stage of starting and running tests on the vehicle. Most fluids have been flushed and the engine received its second oil change after the rebuilt and 700 miles of driving. The clutch and the throw out barring seem to have been replaced recently by visual inspection and are in no need of replacement. The throwout bearing is very quite and shows no sign of bearing failure. The wheels have been balanced and the vehicle drives straight and true. No vibrations or pulling. Tires are 60% good, the leather has no rips but has a spot where the seams are coming apart. Overall a very clean, well maintained and presentable daily driver.
