1958 MG MGA Additional Info:

1958 MG MGA 1958 MGA older restoration. While it has been a summer weekend driver since restoration over ten years ago and shows only minimal wear it has held up remarkably well and seems to have been a quality restoration. At the time it was restored It was disassembled, stripped to bare metal. Any issues were repaired and reassembled. Repainted in its original red. It includes the Heritage certificate indicating originally it was red with a red interior. Believed to be matching numbers.
It looks runs and drives great. It holds excellent oil pressure even after a long drive. It shifts through all gears nicely. The clutch engages well and down shifts as it should indicating the synchros are all good. The drum brakes stop firmly and straight. It tracks straight and corners beautifully. It does not appear to be dripping any oil on inspection after a drive. My experience is that all MGs drip a bit. However I see only a tiny spot in the garage under the engine after months of sitting and occasional drives. It runs as strong as any I’ve driven. I owned over a dozen MG As and restored several. This seems to be an honest strong driver condition car in need of nothing. Although it would likely be an easy car to restore to perfection is a show car is your desire. It comes out of a long term family ownership used for country drives and local shows. There are no signs of any rust. The fit lines look to be very good. Engine compartment and underside are very nicely detailed. comes with some vary nice and rare original equipment including the original Motorola radio, ashtray & original early style side curtains.
The only items not working are the radio which may work but not speaker was installed during the restoration, and the temp gauge reads too low although it shows no signs of heating up Evan after a long drive on a hot day. All other lights and gauges seem to function as they should.
