Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very attractive and honest MGA Roadster with it's 1600 engine and front disc brakes. It's been in the same family for almost all of it's life. It received a very comprehensive full restoration about 30 years ago. It was inherited by the son of the family a few years back while in storage. Approximately $11,000 was spent to get it up and running including an engine overhaul, fuel and brake system rebuilds, clutch, new tires, etc. Today, the car wears an older restoration but presents very nicely in this honest and usable state.The bodywork on this car is extremely good with excellent door fit, trunk and hood fit. It appears to be a perfect un-hit body with very straight panels and nice gapping. Grille and headlamp fit is superb. The lower X-platform located behind the grille is perfect. Paintwork is of medium gloss and might possibly be older lacquer, but again, appears honest and has a very genuine period feel about it.The car's interior shares the same story here. Older seats present well in vinyl along with a nicely mellowed soft top, tonneau cover, carpets, panel kit, and a newer nice sidecurtain set. The car still retains it's dash mounted Motorola transistor radio...Mechanically, the car is excellent as a result of all the work to the tune of $11,000 that was carried our recently. We are currently fitting a new rear muffler.Overall, an amazingly honest and desirable MGA 1600 Roadster wearing an older but attractive restoration with a recent mechanical freshening. Since British Racing Green was never offered by MG as an original color for the MGA model, it makes this car even more scarce to findin this color scheme.
