IF I DON'T ADDRESS YOUR QUESTION BELOW, IT MEANS I DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER:
What is there to say about this beautiful MGB Roadster other than WOW! This unique Pro Touring MG has been gone through and rebuilt from the ground up and modernized in the right way for safety while maintaining it's go-kart feel. There are huge Wilwood Disc Brakes up front and the stock rear brakes were rebuilt, New/modern adjustable front racing suspension, There are new factory wheels and tires with less than 1,000 miles on them... did I mention a Rebuilt Engine, Transmission and Clutch all done within the last 5,000 miles or so? Yes, it has a Weber Carb... No it doesn't have overdrive. The only items that weren't replaced with new or rebuilt is the carpet, the soft top (it previously had a hard top) and a few control bolts to hold the heater knobs in place. New paint inside and out. This was essentially a new car 5,000 miles ago but was set up as a club track car until it was donated to a charity and I acquired it a few months ago to play around with. What I know about the car is only what my mechanic said when he went through it shortly after buying. He said that it would have cost at least $10,000 to do what has been done to this car in the last few miles.
YOU CAN BUY IT NOW FOR $5500.00. (I have a reserve on the auction of $3k to keep the buy it now option up.)
Has new Kenwood Marine Bluetooth CD stereo with roll bar mounted wakeboard speakers and hands free mic.
THIS IS A RUST FREE CALIFORNIA CAR!
Everywhere I drive this car it gets attention, even sitting next to a Lambo at a light people were asking me about it and ignoring the Yellow Italian next door.
BEFORE BIDDING I ENCOURAGE YOU TO COME SEE THE CAR or out of state bidders to hire a mechanic or inspector to check it out...
The top has no rips or tears but it is older and the windows are cloudy. I would guess you can buff them out with some plastic X but I never drive with the top up so I never tried. I have the drivers side mirror but not the passenger side. It looks like they go for about $40-50 here on ebay. It also does not have any visors installed.
I have all the old suspension and brakes in the trunk along with a cover.
FOR CALIFORNIA BUYERS - There is missing smog items on this car. I have it registered in Minnesota and I would suggest you register it out of state as well, otherwise If you want it smogged I have a friend who can swap his smog controls onto mine and we can get it smogged but we will charge $250 for that labor to swap systems on and back off again. Otherwise, it would be sold in CA as a "parts car" because I am not providing a smog certificate.
Why am I selling it? Good question! I live on the beach in CA and there is no parking. The salt air and elements will kill this car and I simply don't have garage space for it and can't stand to watch a masterpiece wash away.
Here are the flaws I have noticed.
* Center carpet (transmission hump) is original and worn, with a tear.
* Racing seats are cheap and don't adjust but look cool! Black with Yellow stripe
* Missing passenger side mirror.
* Soft top has cloudy windows
* Heat control knobs are missing the bolt to hold in. (does have brand new oem old stock knobs though!)
* Have never tried any of the electrical controls other than wiper blades and lights. Not sure if the fog lights are wired yet.
* Odometer and gas guage don't work.
* Glove box needs to be installed.
* There is a nick in the paint by the water jets for the wipers.
* There was a ding in drivers front wheel well area.
* The paint job is custom and not factory. Pin striping has not been finished.
* Roll bar paint is chipped a bit where the night running lights were located.
* Recently the trunk was damaged (see pic) by vandals. Minor damage easily repaired.
To make this car perfect, get a new top $300, New carpet kit $150 and maybe some Recaro seats. I still have the hard top mounting kit so you could grab one of those instead.
I will help with shipping once payment has cleared for any non-local buyer meaning I will help load the car and meet a driver to pick it up. I can also pick up buyer at John Wayne airport and bring him to the car.
BIDDERS WITH 0 OR EXCESSIVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK BIDS WILL BE IGNORED.
