Huber Automotive Presents:
1976 MGB Roadster
Huber Automotive is glad to offer this 1976 MGB, a beautiful little sports car in very nice overall condition, just recently acquired from a local collector who owned the car for 20+ years. Driving this little roadster is certainly a nostalgic experience, and out on the road it charms with a character that is only found in a classic English sports car, with a strong running powertrain and overall very solid demeanor, as well as a solid body and under carriage. In 1974 most MG’s were fitted with a large rubber front bumper to meet safety regulations of that time, however this one upgraded by the previous owner with the much more desirable chrome front bumper and grille, as well as a nice lower chin spoiler to give it a great look. The chrome upgrades nicely compliment the Flame Red finish, which shows very well overall. The black leather-like interior of this car is in VERY nice condition as well, with no visible or excessive wear on any of the seats, door panels, or dash, and likewise, the retractable top is in exceptional, nearly new condition. Overall this MGB is in great condition, and is a nice, affordable roadster that can be enjoyed as it is or can be tinkered with as you go.
Condition: Please look at all of the pictures below. The car shows very well. It has, at some point, been repainted, but not over the 20-year ownership of the previous owner. The paint is shiny, glossy, and very presentable. There is a 6-inch crack in the paint on the hood, that actually looks more like a scratch and is tough to notice unless you're looking for it. The top is excellent, the chrome is very nice, the wheels and tires show very well also.Inside, the interior is very presentable and shows very well, and there is no excessive wear or things that take away from the look. Call me for a more thorough walkaround.
Out on the road, this little roadster really runs strong. The motor revs freely, the gearbox feels great, and the car drives straight and is solid. This is a 5th gear overdrive car, a rare option on these, and it engages as it should and operate properly. I've driven it several miles and up to about 55mph with confidence.
History: We bought this MG for our inventory from a local collector, along with several other cars as he was "freeing up capital". It was stored in his collector "barn" (not an actual barn, more like a 4 season fun garage with living space) and driven short distances, but he would start and drive it on a regular basis. The odometer works properly and we understood the miles to be actual. The title reads actual, but shows a mileage reading of about 30k more miles than it actually has, therefore we're listing it as true mileage unknown.
Points worth noting: This is an old English car. It has a TON of character, and it starts and runs well, even on cold starts. Nevertheless, it can always be tinkered with. It has no seatbelts, and some features may or may not work. Call and ask for specifics and please don't hesitate to ask for more details.
