1973 Mercury Cougar XR-7 Additional Info:

I am selling this 1973 Cougar XR-7 convertible due to my chapter 13bankruptcy. It's not something I want to do but I have to since the trustee expects the money (7000$) from this sale in order for me to keep my home. This car runs quite well for it's age. My parents and grandfather in the past have said that the odometer has never rolled over. However this may change as I joy ride in it a few more times before I sell it. This car was owned by my grandfather in the mid 80's and he rarely drove it only for specialoccasions. I believe there was one owner prior to him but do not quote me on that. My parentsacquiredthe car from him sometime in the late 90's and it sat for the better part of a decade in a barn covered up. They then gave it too me in about 2008 and since then I have dumped a pretty penny into getting it going and the basic fixings of old parts. There has been a lot done to this car and I will do my best to list this as I have kept most of mydocumentationfor this. I never drive this car in the rain, or on any salted roads. Neither have my parents or my grandfather. I have cared for the outside of this car as much as I could. Waxing it, using microfiber towels and never even washing the thing with water other than toclay-barit a couple times before putting on a nice wax coat. Microfiber pollen wipe downs in the summer. It runs a little cold upon first days start up but drives great when warmed up. The choke works fine. Its a real eye catcher and I have had scores of old timerscomingup to look at this rare Cougar. I used it for little joyrides and ice cream trips and in roughly 8 years have put on just under 25,000 miles . This would be a great car for someone with extra money to restore. The car is nice as is, but with the right investment it could be made into a 25,000 car. Listed below are the more major things I have had done to it.
2015 - inner and outer tie rods, adjusting sleeves, pitman arm and idler arm, upper ball joints, lower ball joints, front links (records for all of this), wheel bearings (can't find invoice) but the same guys (Unique Auto, Hudsonville, Michigan) that did ball joint did the bearings.
2014 - Tires (Currently about 5000 miles on them), Front and back shocks (unfortunately I do not havereceiptfor this)
2010 - Purchased 4 barrel Edelbrock carburetor and better performance intake manifold and had a couple friends install it so unfortunately there is not an invoice for this in my records.
2008 - replace transmission filter, fluid and pan gasket, replaced rear brake wheel cylinders, replace bleeding master cylinder, replace upper front shock bushings, water pump, alternator, radiator hose, plugs, wires, distributor cap, pushrods and valve cover gaskets, fuel pump (records for all of this)
Also in 2008 I had a custom installed cd/aux player with an amp to the upper floor of the trunk and wired to 6x9's, in 6x9 housing just sitting on the back corners of the seat. Smaller speakers were installed in the dash.
I am probably leaving something out but feel free to ask me any questions. I will provide plenty of photos including photos of any damaged areas.
Update 5/4 - I should also note that the first year I had this car I hit a deer. It did some fender damage but nothing mechanical was damaged. It was fixed by a local body shop and was covered under Hagerty Insurance. I have the car insured for 10,000$ set to expire 6/4/16
