1989 Mercury Grand Marquis Colony Park LS Additional Info:

Up for bids is my 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis Colony Park LS Station Wagon. I bought this car a few months ago as a parts car but after acknowledging my list is longer to complete than free time I have for the rest of my life, I have decided to part ways with it. I drove all the way to the Outer Banks of NC to save it from having to go to the crusher due to town ordinance of not having a license plate.
It is an 89, the last year for the good, airbag-free dashes that have odometers that do not break!
It is a lifelong OBX car, which is why it has so much rust from the salt air. It was just on the road this year before failing inspection due to rusted exhaust.
This car is pretty well loaded. It came factory with the following
Power front disc brakesPower SteeringVent Wing door windowsPower Windows including tailgatePower antennaPower mirrors
Power LocksCornering LampsIlluminated EntryAutomatic Climate Control (needs work)Third row dual facing seatsAutomatic headlightsCruise ControlRoof Rack
The salt air has gotten to this car. Though the frame is solid, the doors are crusty at the bottom edge, the roof and A pillars have rot. This car has a lot of corrosion in the body, but The tailgate is solid. All glass is good, the engine and transmission are strong and run and operate very well. Before the last owner this car was very well taken care of by an elderly man who owned it over a decade. This car is fixable but I would suggest it be used for parts.
The last owner used this car for carpentry so the interior is in pretty rough shape. However the floors are solid. The power windows will need attention to properly work again.
The alloy wheels are all there although it currently has Explorer wheels on the back.
To be road legal however, it will need exhaust, a new battery and a new set of tires. The engine and transmission however run and drive strong with no hesitation on the roadways, and shift as it is supposed to.
The car has a clear NC title.Car will need to be trailered to its new home. Full payment is to be received within 10 days of auction end and car needs to be taken home within 14 days.
Thanks for looking and if you have any questions please ask! I will also be listing a 1986 Country Squire LX and a 1989 Country Squire. Both cars are fully loaded!
