1966 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series Additional Info:

Stunning 1966 Mercedes 230S Fintail . The quality of these cars is just amazing, produced by craftsmen to a standard, not a price. The car has spent much of it's life in the Carolina's hence it's condition. This is not a restored car, it has been maintained as necessary throughout the years. The car would appear to have been repainted some time ago, it retains a good lustre to the paint. The performance of this Mercedes belies its fifty years. Easily able to keep up with modern traffic, a great car to take on the highway and cruise all day at illegal speeds. The brakes are just superb, as good as a modern car. Perhaps the best part of the car is the ride. It rides much smoother than any new Mercedes, rough roads and bumps are hardly felt. The Automatic Transmission is a 4 speed, the same type as fitted to the 230/280 SL of the period. The characteristics of the transmissions is a little different to others in as much as it has no torque converter. Those of you with a Pagoda (280SL) will know exactly what I mean. The interior is original and very comfortable for five. This is a big car. The original carpets are now getting worn. I'm not aware of any rust in the car. The car was recently serviced by a specialist Mercedes Shop and given a clean bill of health. As to the mileage, I was told by the previous owner that the car was originally owned by an elderly gentleman who rarely used the Benz, it eventually passed to his family who kept it garaged for decades with only occasional use. I have an odometer disclosure statement from the previous owner stating the mileage is actual. I am a collector and due to a forthcoming house move will be thinning the collection.
You are invited to inspect the car to satisfy yourself as to its condition. The car has no warranty, real or implied, and is sold as is and where is. The cost of any transportation is at the buyers expense. The car will not be released until all monies have cleared my bank account. The Title is clear and in my name.
