GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1981 Mercedes-Benz 380SL for sale. a smooth 3.8L V8 and an automatic transmission, the 380SL is a classic Mercedes. It runs and drives very well and has been very well cared for. The 380SL was a mid-range model that offered an excellent blend of both efficiency and V8 performance. Finished in Silver Blue Metallic, this car is in excellent shape overall. The paint is very nice, with just a couple... of small imperfections here and there. The body is very straight and the chrome and rubber trim is excellent. The car has a very nice soft top and a matching factory hard top. The exterior is bolstered by later model 16in alloy wheels wrapped in continental tires and bumper mounted fog lights. The interior features a navy blue leather interior that is very clean. There is a little wear on the seats, but everything is very nice and comfortable. The dash has wood trim which is stunning. The factory instrumentation and automatic climate control are intact and in working condition. In classic Mercedes fashion, these cars were the perfect blend between sport and luxury with a long list of standard features including: power steering, cruise control, climate control, electric windows, central locking system, tinted glass, fully independent suspension, breakerless transistorized ignition, power assisted four wheel disc brakes, light alloy wheels, electronic AM/FM stereo with cassette, automatic antenna with selective height adjustment, rear defrost on hard top, 2-speed windshield wipers with 5-second interval mist control, tachometer, electrically operated passenger outside mirror, adjustable front bucket seats, front folding armrest, halogen headlights and fog lamps, etc. Mechanically this car is in spectacular condition as the engine was rebuilt at 124,239 miles. The 380SL offered here runs and drives very well and has been well cared for. The Mercedes-Benz SL series started out as the top of the line sports luxury tourer that offered both performance and comfort. The third generation SL was called the R107 chassis and is one of the most recognizable Mercedes of all time. Produced from 1971 all the way to 1989, the R107 lived a long and cherished life. The United States was an extremely popular market for the personal luxury coupe and almost â…” of all SL's were sold here. Unfortunately, US regulations mandated big bumpers, low power headlights, and emission choked engines. While not as quick or pretty as their European cousins, the US market SL's still represented the cream of the personal luxury car crop.
