1984 Mercedes 280SL Convertible with removable hard top

(with 64K original miles)

I have an antiquity company in the middle of Texas. We specialize in fine antiques and collectibles. Once in a while my customers turn in a classic automobile or motorcycle.

This is one of those items:

We received this beautiful little Mercedes from a private collector’s man cave/museum. The car was a part of this collection for the last 10 years. The car is absolutely solid with zero rust. The interior is in good shape but eventually the car will need to be painted in order to bring it to its original beauty.

The car has its original straight 6 engine with an automatic transmission. The car has air conditioning and all the goodies that came with the Mercedes in those years. The car does not have the original radio in it……. we drained the gas tank and put a new battery in it and it started right away. It runs but it needs to be serviced (the transmission) after many years of sitting.

The car comes with a clear Texas title.

What is good about the car:

Equipped with air conditioning.

Equipped with power windows and both windows are working perfectly.

Low original mileage of 61K miles

Absolutely zero rust as it has been parked inside.

We removed the hard top to check the convertible top. It is brand new from the factory and has never been opened before..

Mercedes tool bag.

Mercedes maintenance book.

Perfect body with no dings or damage.

Perfect glass and chrome.

The engine is running fantastic.

Good interior.

Clear Texas title.

VIN# WDB1070421A005919

What is not sogood about the car:

It is missing the original radio as it was upgraded somewhere down the line to a CD player.

The tires look good but they are old.

The car needs service due to sitting for a long time, especially the transmission, sometimes it wont shift into reverse.

If you are going to make a show car out of it, you will probably have to repaint it eventually.

All the inspections must be done before the auction closes.

Remember that this classic car is 36 years old. Please remember that things always look better in pictures. So you are more than welcome to come see it in person.

Your bid is your contract. Please place bids only if you are serious about buying the item. If you are the winning bid, you are entering into a legal binding contract to purchase the item.

We require a $500 non-refundable deposit immediately after the bidding closes and the remaining balance within a week. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. The car will be sold as is, with no warranty or guarantee.

We reserve the right to cancel any bid for excessive negative feedback. And I may also advertise it locally.
