1985 Mercedes-Benz

300TD Wagon

Exceptionally rare and highly sought after 1985 Mercedes-Benz 300TD Wagon. This W123 Turbodiesel Wagon combines the bulletproof reliability of the OM617 iron head engine with a powerful turbocharger. Only Mercedes diesels produced in 1981 to 1985 offered this extremely robust combination of reliability and performance. 1985 represents the final year of production for this iconic Mercedes, and these are by far the rarest and most desirable of the W123 Turbodiesels. Only in 1985 did W123 wagons receive a much taller rear axle ratio to boost economy along with a higher torque converter stall speed to help the turbocharger boost more rapidly. Both of these additions created a greatly improved driving experience.

Always meticulously maintained, this wagon starts immediately with the turn of the key without any hesitation, shaking or smoke. The 3.0L Inline 5 cylinder Turbodiesel engine produces excellent power, and shifts are precise and timely. The steering is tight and the suspension is controlled and supple. It brakes well without pulling or pulsations.

This wagon is fresh from an extensive service including:

· Fresh Oil Change and Filter

· New Primary and Secondary Fuel Filters

· Fresh Brake Fluid Flush

· Fresh Coolant Flush

· New Brake Pads and Sensors Front and Rear

· New Engine Mounts

· New Glow Plugs

· Complete Valve Adjustment

All options on this wagon work aside from a few of the power window regulators and power locks, which have a common vacuum leak. The climate control functions properly, but will need a recharge to blow cold. The cruise control works intermittently. Odometer is original and functioning correctly along with all the other gauges, besides the fuel indicator, which works intermittently. Comes complete with the original Becker Grand Prix radio, but the outside antenna will need to be replaced. The light ivory paint and chrome accents shine nicely. Body is straight and solid with no major dents or scratches and only some corrosion mainly limited to the lower inside edges of the doors around the seals. This wagon smells clean on the inside and there are no leaks, including the sunroof. Original manuals and maintenance booklet included. This Turbodiesel wagon is turn-key ready, extremely safe and reliable and an absolute blast from the past to drive!

Although in very good condition overall, this is a vintage car and will naturally show signs of use and age. Please refer to the more than 70 pictures that I have of the car below. This very rare and extremely well-maintained Mercedes-Benz W123 Turbodiesel Wagon represents an exceptional investment; because of its general scarcity and desirability, experts agree that these W123 Turbodiesel Wagons are sure to significantly appreciate in value in the coming years.
