1968 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 200D Additional Info:

Long time Family owned by Diesel Mechanic. Recently pulled from storage

Well maintained by same owner for over 30 years. This original example (aside from radio) isnow resurrected and could be yours to restoreor simply perform maintenanceand drive as is.Very solid car. Runs, drives, starts, stops, turns and handles. Aside from a little vibration at initial idle, this is one of the smoothest running diesels I've had.Starts easily every time so you can simply drive as is, or attend to cosmeticstohave a restored example of this timeless classic.Unfortunately repaint of original colorhe put on it has faded to brown, so could use repaint and repair of dings and scratches. Bottom hood hinge bolt needs replacement.Could use a little attention to hydraulics, and possible alignment as pulls slightly to right. Lights and signals work. Odometer and trip meter even work.Wipers do not seem to- unknown cause. Interior dry with some cracking on seats, rubber along sills and interior rockers alsocracked but the metal underneath appears quite solid. Dash wood could use refinishing. You will be hard pressed to find a betteror more economical classicto drive while you restore. Enjoy this Heckflosse.Happy bidding.
