1984 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series turbo diesel Additional Info:

300TD with 5 cylinder turbo diesel OM617...the legendary million mile engine. This one has 190,000 and has been impeccably maintained by its owners. It accelerated well, comfortable and quiet and extremely reliable. Very low rust. i just had in in the mechanic shop on a lift and there is zero rust on the pan that I can see. No rust in the drain/jack points which is uncommon. I bought this car to use as a daily driver and a family car to go on weekend trip around the north east with my two young kids and my wife which I have done. I have spent a lot of money on it, replacing anything worn or looking like it may be worn, to get to where I can get in it with my family and KNOW that it will start every time and get me where i need to go every time, PERIOD. very reliable and very safe family car, daily driver or long distance family wagon. I spent money on this car KNOWING I wouldn't sell it and would use it for a long time. We have since bought property upstate and need to have a 4 wheelDrive vehicle to get around the land safely so with much much much regret, this has to go. I can't stress how nice this car drives, feels and looks... If you like the rat rod look. The custom hood ornament i made, Thule rack and cage come with it. I have all the parts that are missing from the factory chrome rack, in perfect condition. I have the fairing, a few trim parts that aren't on it and a few misc parts I will throw in. I have spared no expense with this car and I love it more than I can convey, just have to get a 4x4, its that simple. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere and back right now. The AC blows cold, it shifts well in every gear, the engine is fantastic, interior is pretty nice as has almost no rust! Car has the coveted fold away rear facing seats too in perfect shape (never used and probably never were) Work done i in the last year: -All body work professionally done. Zero dents. premiered, blocked and sprayed professionally flat black. Looks pretty good, again has the rat rod look. -Glow plugs -All brakes -Tie rods -Upper control arms -Lower control arms -Wheel bearings -Sway bar -Front shocks: bilstein -Rear shocks: air -Oil pan gasket -Oil cooler lines -Radiator hoses -All belts -Diesel return lines -All fluids have been flushed and replaced -New air filter -Fresh oil change (new fuel filter, pre filter, oil filter) -New purge pump -New steering link -New rear link -New blow back tube -AC components -AC recharge Tires are good, all the buttons work including seat heaters, blinkers, cruise control, all windows, pass side mirror There are a few cosmetic things that aren't perfect so the owner will still get to have fun tinkering with her, or drive it as is and have a blast! -No external antennae -Yellow fog lights don't work, have cracks in lenses. I don't know or really have cared that they don't work, probably just a bad bulb -Odd rear light situation: blinkers all work well with lights off. When lights are turned on, only the rear driver side light turns on. I just changed the ballast on it thinking that would do it but it is still having the issue. To make it legal at night, i put the emergency blinkers on and for some reason the blinker lights in the rear come on and stay solid with out blinking so it is safe and legal. It is a weird couple problems that is a relay related I am sure which I was going to spend some to time to get fixed next, but now I am selling it. -Vaccuum locks work sporadically. (put the key in and unlock the door/lock the door should lock and unlock all of the doors) -Rear hatch lock doesn't have a key, reach over rear seats to unlock. -drivers side hood hinge is bent, hood doesn't latch every time. It doesn't really effect anything, the hood stays closed and locked and will never pop up -Its an old car, almost everything that was in need of replacement or if I thought it may be worn, I have replaced at great expense. all in total, 4000$ in the last year, the new owner shouldn't have to spend a dime on anything for while besides the usual maintenance. All small things You can get in this car right now and drive to California and back comfortably, reliably and efficiently I have spent a lot of time and money getting this car to the state its in today. This car car is being sold as is and has been represented to the best of my knowledge, please ask me specific questions about it and I will reply in a timely matter. if I don't know the answer, I will find out

I just responded to a potential buyer with the below email, which i am attaching to listing: I was told it is from the South and west which could mean anything but is good news for the rust, or lack there of. It is definitely not from NY or any where requiring salted roads for that matter. The previous owner collected classic mercedes diesels and chose this one to start to restore. This one he had for 8 years And was in the early stages of restoring it, chosen because it was such a clean car. No accident history, no rust, body is straight, chrome is nice, nothing leaks, interior was mint etc. he never drove it in that 8 years, it just sat in his garage until I came along. It was a bit taken apart and needed things like brakes, tires, paint job etc from sitting. I went through the whole car and had a professional mechanic check and replace as necessary everything mechanical on it And continued that process piece by piece. Now it is a truly nice place to be, it's a pleasure to drive ( I drive it every day) and is always a reliable, relaxing way to get around. It has lots of power, is very comfortable (replaced all the shocks and suspension components). A goal of my wife and I with selling it is to get it to someone who will love it and use it as we have and was planning for years to come. Sometimes a car becomes more than a machine and becomes part of your family!
