For sale is this 1980 Mercedes Benz 500SEL. The flagship model from back in the day!
This car was imported for the original owner back in 1980, prior to the restrictions later placed on euro models. This is a true European market model.
This is a 500SEL Model with only 90,000 original miles!
IT LOT RUNS AND DRIVES, but the water pump is shot and it will overheat.
The brakes work, the Vents work, everythingpractically works in this car.
It has been sitting in storage, undriven for about 2 years now. We acquired the vehicle from the original owners family, after the owner had passed away. Our intentions were to restore it as it needed minimal work, but unfortunate life events prevented us from doing so.
This model has disk brakes and all the power options that were available during 1980! It is in fact fully loaded.
This is a GREAT car to restore as it only needs light TLC. There is minimal rust which has been pictured, and it is complete and original so there would be minimal work in souring parts to repair anything. It can be driven around, but will overheat because the pump does not flow. The visible rust is in the most common places, which is on the lower rockers front and rear, and small bubbles on the rear fenders.
Clean and Clear title in hand.
This Mercedes has the original plate with the importers name for whom it was imported from Germany, back in 1980!
I have listed the car for sale through a local dealership as well, and reserve the right to cancel the auction if it is sold locally.
