It features dual airbags, a safety roll bar which automatically deploys if a sensor on the wheels detects danger. Revolutionary at the time and still to this day one of the safest cars every made.

The Mercedes 300SL 24 (R129) has a naturally aspirated six cylinders in line longitudinal front engine with a maximum power output of 231PS available at 6300 rpm, and a maximum torque of 272Nm available from 4600 rpm, transmitted to the 16” rear wheels by an automatic 5 speed gearbox.
