1983 Mazda RX-7 GSL Additional Info:

Very professionally converted electric vehicle. I bought this 6 yrs ago from a private seller, significantly upgraded the electric systems, and drove it about 10,000 miles. Like driving the world's fastest golf cart. Batteries finally wore out and I'm moving, so it's time for someone else to enjoy it. Just needs new batteries of your choice to make it your own.

The car itself is in great condition. No real rust spots. Very few dents and dings, and none of them are serious. Upgraded rims. Almost new tires. Interior is in nearly new condition - I replaced the seats and door upholstery.

Direct DC drive into original transmission. Top line electrical conversion components. 144VDC power system with on board charging system. The Curtis 1231C controller was upgraded less than 200 miles ago. DC-DC converter to power car's 12V system. Capable of speeds to 65mph and range of 25 miles with the AGM battery pack that I installed. High torque with power system - I usually started in 3rd gear and shifted to 4th for high speeds. Also comes with an onboard computer to monitor battery pack voltage, engine rpm, amp draw, and approximate battery capacity.
This is a dream starter vehicle for the ev hobbyist looking to enter the field. Very low reserve price - you won't find a more solid vehicle with high end components are this price. A list of components include:

Allis Chalmers DC motor with adapter plate $500+

Curtis 1231C controller (<200miles on it) $1,560

Quick Charge Select-A-Charge On Board charger (120VAC-144VDC) $499

Iota DLS 30A DC/DC converter $160

Electric Blue Motors EV Dashboard Computer $300

12V AGM battery cores $40 x 12 = $480

12VDC vacuum pump $20

144VDC contactor $30

Curtis PB-6 Speed control potentiometer $89

Secondary components (fuses, terminal connectors, cables, etc) $200

Online kits are well over $5,000-$6,000 without battery cores or the on board computer.

I have removed the batteries and associated wiring, but all of the power systems and computer are still fully installed. There are welded battery holders for five batteries in the engine compartment, and the rest of the batteries mount in the back, making the car very well balanced in weight distribution. Vehicle has upgraded suspension system for added battery weight.

This car was operating perfectly when parked, but comes with no guarantee. Buyer is responsible for pick up and transport, although I will help in any way that I can. I can also assist with identifying a shipping carrier, as I have shipped many cars.

Paint on bumpers is a little raw, and some of the clear coat is oxidizing slightly due to sun. Upgraded rims. Almost new tires.
