1971 Lotus Europa Additional Info:

1971 LOTUS EUROPA S2 Mid-engined sports car. Original Renault R-16 engine. Rare perspex headlight covers (I have never seen others, new aluminum radiator, great tires, very nice interior. Lowered european stance, twin weber carbs on a custom made aluminum manifold (carbs need dialing in, I was told the intake manifold was very rare, about 2 dozen made) Custom powdercoated exhaust header, Smaller Momo steering wheel. Original hubcaps included (really nice, Some extra parts. Light blue paint, in ok condition but not pristine. I don't see any stress cracks in the paint, but there is some from the paint curing wrong on the rear engine cover. Chrome back bumper could use a going over. Clean engine, transaxle unit. original wiring. Good battery (one year old) I don't think this car has ever been in a accident, but I don't know for sure. I've not found any evidence to a accident. These R-16 engines do not like the cold to start, but it has good compression, good oil pressure immediatly upon start, and starts right up on a warm day. (not now in Minnesota) These are somewhat temperamental little sports cars, some work may be required. I am sure some fettling will be needed, stuff on Europas work one day, not the next, and then over night work again or decide to stay away. (especially instruments) I think the previous owner shaved the head down, and there are domed high compression pistons in it. (This does result in a bit higher horsepower, which truly isn't needed.) I haven't had time to drive it as much as I'd like, I love it with a passion, but with age and other family responsibilities and projects I need to let some things go. Questions? PLEASE email me keithkkuehn@aol.com, as I am hard to reach by phone. I will get back to you as fast as I can. You can try 651-777-9684, ask for me. I'll need the normal 500 paypal down, but if you need some special payment, (wire transfer etc) I'll try to work with the winning bidder. No cost storage is possible for a few months. There is a reserve price, now lowered to a bit less than what I have into the car . Also for sale locally, so you know the drill. It's a 1971, so I can't guarantee anything either, but a high fun factor!Buyer responsible for shipping, I'll do all I can to help.On Nov-07-19 at 11:51:05 PST, seller added the following information:

Odometer shows 64850 Serial # 1017R (ebay won't let you put a short # in) and yes, somehow the ebay title above got screwed up. Apologies to all for that, not my fault
