The windows work, adio works, ights work, nd with all newhydraulicsfor the top, t too works well. This is a very straight bodied car. You will see in the restoration pictures that it was in very good condition when they started. The car was well taken care of by previous owners and mostly garaged. Brand new complete dual exhaust mufflers were installed. The leather is in very good condition (no tears). The chrome is in good condition, ut not quite show quality. This is a classic luxury vehicle. It is nicely equipped with features such as Bench Seats, ower locks and windows, nd those world famous Lincoln Continental Suicide Doors.
This is the last year they made the convertible. Only about 2200 suicide door convertibles were made and most have rusted badly or have been totally lost. Classic cars have been proven to be among the most resilient and rewarding investments in recent years, ith the historic Automobile Group Index (HAGI) jumping 39% in 2013 and posting gains of 395-percent over the last 10-years.
For 1967, ew changes were made to the Continental, xcept for minor trim updates. The Lincoln emblem on the front fender was deleted on 1967 models. The dashboard gained several indicator lights, ruise control, nd an oil pressure light. In the interest of safety, ap safety belts became standard alongside an energy-absorbing steering column. After only 2,276 were sold, 967 was the final year for the convertible. The only factory four-door convertible produced after World War II, he 1967 Lincoln Continental Convertible is one of the heaviest automobiles ever produced by Ford Motor Company. At a curb weight of 5,712 (before options), t is the heaviest Lincoln since the Model K, nd is 55 pounds heavier than the corresponding Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 Limousine and 300 pounds heavier than the Imperial LeBaron of that year. The 5,712lbs curb weight is specified in the Lincoln catalog. This generation of Continental is favored by collectors and has appeared in many motion pictures, uch as Goldfinger, he Matrix, ast Action Hero, alifornia, pider-Man 2, it and Run, nimal House, nd the Inspector Gadget films.
