1978 Lincoln Continental Additional Info:

1978 Burgundy Lincoln Continental Convertible
A beautiful example of a very rare convertible conversion. Lincoln stopped making convertibles in '74, but some dealerships offered Coachman conversions. An expensiveadd-onfor what was already the most expensive luxury car of the big three.
First, the bad,...
  • A smallpatch of paint chipping off front bumper filler in the center in front of the grill.
  • There is a small ding in the hood (see picture). One or two more quarter-size elsewhere on the car, but couldn't get the camera to catch them.
  • A clogged exhaust caused the bottom pad to catch fire. Wiring was damaged but the harness has been repaired. The back is perfect, but the bottom needs to be reupholstered (see picture).
The good:
  • 42k original miles.
  • 2nd owner.
  • 8 track
  • Original AM/FM radio
  • Excellent Leather
  • Solid, crack-free dash pad
  • Brand new carpet
  • Passes emissions
  • Power everything (everything)
  • Clock works (and keeps accurate time)
  • Plenty of tread
  • Top is new and excellent
  • Zero rust
  • Rare CB radio option (It works but needs the antenna wired up)
  • Dash pad is perfect
  • All new hydraulics for the convertible top (still have yet to fill the pump system with hydraulic fluid. Leaving it for the new owner so s/he knows it is a whole new system). Works just as well by hand.
  • Chrome is excellent

Was sitting in a garage for the last 5 years. Have gone through all the wiring and fluids. The Lincoln runs, drives, and looks excellent.
