You are viewing a very nice and solid Lincoln. The car is restored and sorted out. Runs and drives excellent. Only 3,212 convertibles were built in 62. Approximately 512 exist today based on the LCOC (Lincoln Continental Owners Club). The car was an excellent condition and survivor status to begin with. 92K miles on the car prior to full restoration. 8K miles driven since the restoration was completed for a total of 100K miles on the car. Complete restoration and shows very well. The car was purchased from the current President of the LCOC in 2006 with the restoration completed in 2008. Stored during the winter and always garaged. An excellent example of a Lincoln convertible and a solid 2 plus car.

Body/Paint: The body retains its original born with steel and was primarily a rust free car. A few small rust areas under the top fender trim where the pinch welds are was fixed. Professionals only touched this car with very little body work to deal with. Primed and blocked multiple times the body is very straight. Base/clear painted in its original color. Special hidden battery tender installed along with battery shut of switch and emergency hood cable. All hidden. Rear fascia plate professionally restored. Weather stripping replaced.

Interior: The interior was completely restored and it beautiful. Clock was refurbished. Circuit board replaced for temp and fuel gauges. New steering wheel. NOS headlight switch and antenna. Radio rebuilt converted to FM. Wood trim replaced with wood as original. Sill plates restored as original. The interior is spectacular.

Top: In excellent condition and shows well with clear rear window. The mechanics were completely gone through by John Cashman who specializes in Lincoln convertibles and travels around the country exclusively rebuilding convertible systems. Added larger pump, which is commonly done for better reliability. Works as it should.

Running Gear: All original to the car. Engine, transmission and rear end have been rebuilt. Less than 10K miles on the engine with only 2K miles on the transmission since rebuild. Runs excellent. Petronix ignition installed. Factory Air Conditioning. Water pump, starter and generator rebuilt. The engine compartment is very clean.

Suspension: Suspension front and rear have been gone through with new rear leaf springs. Steering box restored. The underside of the car is very clean and everything operates correctly. Rides like it is on clouds.

Bright work: Restored with highly polished stainless steel and bumpers rechromed. All in excellent to very good condition and shows very nice.

Glass: All in very nice condition.

Exhaust: Replaced with stainless in stock configuration. Mufflers as well as resonators. Very quiet as stock.

Brakes: Stock non power drum brakes all around in good working order with new Master cylinder. In excellent working order.

Wheels/Tires: Stock wheels and hubcaps in excellent condition with new Coker radials slightly used. P235/14.

Summary: If you are seeking a Lincoln convertible from this era you do not want to restore one. They are very costly with a large number of hours to do properly. This car is an excellent value for the money when considering the cost to buy. Don’t let this excellent example pass you by. Needs nothing. Just drive and enjoy. NOS owner’s manual along with NOS maintenance log book. Maintenance book as well. All come with the car.
