1982 JEEP CJ7, 5-speed with hardtop

1982 Jeep CJ Additional Info:

1982 JEEP CJ7, 4.2L six with 5 speed transmission. Runs, drives, stops, 4WD transfer works. 3.73 gears. Has Weber 32/36 carb conversion. A great-operating 5-speed trans. Tracks good down the road, appears to have had mostly a road life. Tires have more life left. New spare tire. Framelooks good and solid with no heavy rust or patches, body tub has had metal riveted in certain places previously, and a pretty neat job at that. Some dents here and there on the body but nothing major. Paint could certainly be renewed as it is different shades of brown throughout. Hardtop included. New alternator and fuel pump.

The 4.2L six is just tired and needs a rebuild, or replacement. Smoky and leaky, yet it still starts and gets you back home. Odometer says 144924, but unsure if that's original and how many miles are on this particular engine. I don't think this is the original engine. If you have another six or thinking about working up a monster offroader, this could be a excellent base to work with. Needs door and windshield frame rubber. Gas gauge and dash lights inoperative... sometimes.
